Spring 2010: Hot Shoe Trends
Shoes are the ultimate accessory to any outfit, so it’s hardly surprising that women tend to go a tad nuts when it comes to purchasing the perfect pair, closets overrun with heels, boots, sandals, runners, strappies, Converse, stilettos, pumps, and gladiators. For women living in climates hampered by Winter's imprisonment of all shoes gorgeous and (slightly) impractical, the warmer weather paroles beloved classics and eagerly invites the latest additions to the party.Spring 2010 is releasing these 'bad boys':
(from left) Alexander Wang 'Freja', Nine West 'Buren', Aldo 'Caneles'We spotted this look on trendsetter Kim Kardashian, a feminine upgrade to an otherwise masculine form. She opted for Alexander Wang's 'Freja' boot ($675 USD); Nine West's 'Buren' is more affordable at $139 USD and Aldo 'Caneles' is a steal at $90 CAD/USD.
(clockwise from top) Jil Sander brogues, Steve Madden 'Tuxxedo', Kate + Mel oxfordsFlats take a chicly conservative turn, from splurge Jil Sander's $570 USD creamy classic to Kate + Mel's eye catching oxfords ($115 CAD) and Steve Madden's cognac 'Tuxxedo' ($70 USD).
(from left) Miu Miu Dove-print, Tory Burch 'Brayden', Steve Madden 'Daynty'Chanel brought clogs to the runway during its Spring/Summer 2010 Fashion Week in Paris. Miu Miu's version ($495 USD) features the dove-print design, quickly becoming a signature look; Tory Burch's slingback ($295 USD) is easy on the eyes, as is 'Daynty' by Steve Madden ($100 USD).
(from left) Jimmy Choo 'Quito', Aldo 'Kitzrow', Nine West 'Tautou'Strappy cutouts and caged sandals return for Spring/Summer 2010, from the seductive 'Quito' by Jimmy Choo ($995 USD) to Aldo's 'Kitzrow' ($135 CAD/$125 USD) and Nine West's 'Tautou' ($140 CAD/$100 USD).

For those of you not feeling the trends presented here: Pumps in both vibrant colours and nude are in style this Spring as well. I'm personally on the hunt for a 5-inch pair of nude patent pumps. Goes with any outfit and makes the legs look longer.
I need new shoes, but cant say I like any of them.
Are we back in the 80's?!? Man, these just don't attract my attention at all :o Or, maybe it's just my mommy hood that's bringing me down to earth ;)
I have to say the only trend I'm really on board with here is the cutout and caged shoes.
I'm on the fence on Clogs too. It looks good on the runway and on other people, but i feel like the trend is going to die down quickly, so it's probably smart to not invest too much. The pair I like the most is the Clog/platform/strappy heels hybrid. : )
I'm not a clog person, but the Steve Madden Daynty with the thinner heel has my attention! |
