Recently we hosted an exclusive VIP party featuring Thierry Mugler’s intriguing new fragrance, Womanity.  50 Toronto members attended our soiree and the response has been overwhelmingly positive!

This perfume is a departure from anything you’ve tried before, combining juicy fig with broody caviar and finishing with sensual fig wood – truly a designer’s fragrance.  Are you curious?

Thierry Mugler wants to give 100 of you the chance to try Womanity too.  All you have to do is submit a review for your favourite perfume and you’re automatically entered to win a 10mL (1/3 oz) bottle of Womanity.

This giveaway opportunity is open to Canadians and Americans (excluding residents of Quebec and where prohibited by law), and will be selected by random draw.  Score an additional chance to win for every extra perfume you review!  Hurry – reviews must be posted by Monday, August 23, 2010.

Lucky winners will be contacted during the week of August 23 for their mailing particulars.  Good luck!

Thanks Charlot. It is the truth!

You've probably noticed a lot of contests and giveaways exclude the province of Quebec, which I'm sure is part of your frustration.

Unfortunately while every other province makes it easy to do something like this, the Quebec government does not. We have nothing against our French sisters. We love you guys! Though I admit to being slightly jealous of your accents ;)

Hi Ali,

I really do appreciate your quick reply. I understand that Chick Advisor might not be a huge company. But I felt let down somewhat! Reading your comment I really do sense that your are honest in your response, and I feel relieved for that!

Keep up your good work and I hope I will be able to participate in a Chick Advisor giveaway soon!

Charlot, thanks so much for your comments and for the research you did on the subject. It is much appreciated. I'm sorry to all of our lovely Quebec members and readers who were disappointed.

Unfortunately running a contest in Quebec requires a number of things up front, including registering with the government at least one month prior, paying a percentage of the overall value of the giveaway up front and other legal requirements such as having rules and regs in French, etc.

We were not aware of these requirements until last week when we ran into an issue with another campaign we were working on. We may not look it, but we're a small company so we're still learning as we go. I truly appreciate your feedback and thanks for your understanding.

It is a shame you don't want to pay the Contest fee in Quebec in order
for us to participate. You say "excluding residents of Quebec and where
prohibited by law" as if Quebec prevents you to make a contest there,
when it is just a financial question.

In this case, the total fee to pay would have been 33$ What a joke!!!!
Here is the maths I did for that : The fee to pay for a contest
involving Quebec participants (but not just them, as there are
participants from Canada, but as well from the USA) is 0.5% of the total
value of the prizes. Total value in this case is 6600 (66$*100 prizes).
66*100*0.5%=33$

I am really saddenened by that and I really do hope Chick Advisor will
make the correct arrangements to include its Quebec Reviewers in future
contests.

CLARIFICATION: Some of the reviews we've been seeing have said "I haven't yet tried this perfume but would sure like to". Please note that not only is this not a valid entry, it is also not permitted according to our review policy. The affected reviews will be removed.

All reviews must always reflect your personal familiarity with the product, not that of a friend or relative. Negative reviews (eg. "I did not like this product because...") are acceptable anytime and do qualify you for entry into this draw.

Thanks for your understanding!

I've been into mixology and aromatherapy for a couple of years now and I'm obsessed with sampling and reviewing perfumes! This is the most absolutely perfect give-away for me! Angel is the FIRST gourmand scent I ever purchased and I always have a bottle in my collection so I'm stoked to test out Womanity! I would have loved to test it out in person! Too bad I don't live in Canada! I'm so excited I can't stop using the exclamation points!!! I hope all the reviews I leave help you girls out and score me a bottle of some fab perfume hehe
