Eat Your Way to Shiny Hair

Posted by Cathy | Wednesday April 28, 20103 comments
We love hair products like Moroccanoil and Frederic Fekkai Glossing Cream for getting shiny and luscious locks, but if you really want healthy hair you need to work from the inside out!

We picked our top 3 healthy and tasty foods that will get you touchable, smooth hair in no time!

1. Oysters
Oysters are packed with zinc, which supports hair growth and keeps your hair follicles healthy. Try them raw or served with pasta and a marinara sauce!

2. Chickpeas
Chickpeas are enriched with zinc and vitamin B-6, which promotes cell growth within the hair follicle. Blend some up to make a tasty and easy hummus dip to serve with pita bread or carrots.

3. Salmon
Your hair is 98% protein, so include protein in your diet if you want healthy hair. Salmon is jam-packed with protein, essential fatty acids and natural oils to make you feel good all over. Try adding baked salmon to a salad for a hair-healthy lunch.

I just started taking Omega-3 supplements with DHA and EPA, and I think it's actually helping me concentrate better. I was originally looking for it for my hair... the bottle I bought was specifically for brain function, but I'm sure anything with Omega-3 should help with hair and nails!

Seriously salmon is included in pretty much every "super foods" list I've read. Good for your brain, hair, skin, nails, plus it's very tasty.

Salmon is a super food! Good for your health, good for your hair, great for your skin! I started eating more fish a few years ago and I couldn't believe how fast the change was in my skin - it was clearer and had a nice glow to it. I didn't know salmon could have the same effect for your hair. Great to know!
