4 Ways to Revamp Your Wardrobe

| Sunday February 7, 20104 comments
With new resolutions, new motivation, and new goals for 2010, the only thing you’re missing is a new wardrobe. With everyday style evolving and your clothing budget dissolving, revamping your basics and mixing and matching your current pieces can help you create fresh, fun looks without dreading next month’s Visa bill.

1. Blinging Your Basics

Jeans and graphic tees are no longer just for the mall or for lazy Sundays. Take them from casual to effortlessly fun and flirty by pairing them with your work wardrobe items. A boyfriend blazer is a great way to dress up almost any outfit, and can double as a cover-up for spring. Choose from a great selection at Aritzia or Urban Outfitters. Add some sparkle with your distressed skinnies, some fishnet stockings and heels, and wrap some bracelets around one of your sleeves.

2. Chucks Taylors Aren't Just For Kids

All the teens are doing it, so why can't we? Converse Chuck Taylors give any outfit a fun kick. They come in different rises on the ankle, and new styles for 2010 flaunt a thinner sole, intricate lacing, and are still a steal at around $50. Add them to your 2009 collection of oversize sweaters and show those kids that you can play too.

3. Revitalizing Your Little Black Dress

Why we hold our favourite little black dress captive in the closet for 360 days a year is a mystery. Throw in some patterned legwear, your staple work shirt and your favourite ballet flats. If you’re feeling really innovative, wear it as a skirt and take your LBD from the dance floor through the office door.

4. Seasonal Rules Need Not Apply

Can't wait to wear your favourite floral dress from last summer? Take it right into winter with leggings, that boyfriend blazer, and your winter boots. Tired of wearing the same dress to work? Layer the standard career dress with a vest, or pop a work shirt underneath. Finally, bring life to those long work days with some patterned tights from Club Monaco

I'm quite certain those boots in the last picture are from Rudsak as I
have the same pair. I LOVE them. Comfortable and so stylish! I got
them for $199 on sale. Pretty sweet!
