For some reason, the Australian government's "Smart Traveller" website is cautioning their public that Canada isn't exactly a safe travel destination:

"Bush and forest fires can occur any time in Canada. You should consult local news reports and authorities before visiting forested areas and follow the advice of local authorities."

"We advise you to exercise caution and monitor developments that might affect your safety in Canada because of the risk of terrorist attack."

"Pay close attention to your personal security and monitor the media for information about possible new safety or security risks."

Yahoo did a great write up on this website. The best part is the countries listed as safer than Canada:

Chile
Croatia
Czech Republic
Belarus
Romania
South Korea
Ireland
Norway
Japan
and Latvia. WTF??
