Beauty School: Red Carpet Beauty Tutorial

| Sunday March 7, 201014 comments
Sultry smoky-soft eyes are The Look for glamour and romance, just like those we saw on Oscar's red carpet last night.  While many sported the signature look, none did it better than the stunning Kate Winslet.

(4) Sigma Makeup SS239 Eye Shading Brush, $9 USD
(5) Sigma Makeup SS219 Pencil Brush, $9 USD
(6) Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, $19 USD

How To Get The Look:

Start by applying Make Up Forever HD Invisible Cover Foundation all over your face using Sigma Makeup SS190 Brush. Conceal dark circles, blemishes or scars with Lise Watier Concealer Portfolio with a Sigma Makeup SS 194 Concealer Brush. Set with a light dusting M.A.C. Mineralized Skinfinish Natural Powder.

Using Sigma Makeup SS 194 Concealer Brush, apply M.A.C. Paintpot in Painterly all over your lids to create a base for your eyeshadow. Dust a generous coat of loose powder under your eyes to prevent eyeshadow fallout.

Using Sigma's SS 239 Eye Shading Brush, apply the Angie shade (the light shade in Sigma Makeup Beauty On The Go Kit in Neutral Shades) on the inner corner of your crease and on your brow bone to highlight.

Using the same brush, apply the Brown Sugar shade on the outer ¾ of your lids, passing the crease. In a windshield wiper motion, blend out any harsh edges with Sigma Makeup SS 224 Tapered Blending Brush.

With Sigma Makeup SS 219 Pencil Brush apply Brown Eyed Girl on the outer half of eyelid, slightly extending past the crease. Blend with Sigma SS 224 Tapered Blending Brush.

Using a small brush, darken lower lash line with Brown Eyed Girl.

Darken outer edge of your crease with M.A.C. Eyeshadow in Carbon. Blend.

Apply M.A.C. Pro Chromaline in Black Black on your upper lash line, extending a little past your eye to create a cat eye effect. Dab the same eyeliner on your lower waterline to really make you eyes pop. Curl your lashes with Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler. Coat the upper and lower eyelashes with two to three layers of Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara. Add false eyelashes for a more dramatic effect.

Fill in eyebrows. Dust away loose powder and clean up any edges with a Q-Tip.

Using your ring finger, apply Stila Convertible Color in Peony to the apples of your cheeks. Apply any nude lipstick and lipgloss to finish the look.

And the final look:
