Makeup Transformation: Tri-Colour Eye Shadow

What do designers Zac Posen, Thakoon, Peter Pilotto all have in common (besides all being designers)? They all did tri-colour eye shadow looks on the runway. The look is dramatic and definitely not for a makeup wall flower. We tried it out in a few different ways with bold, smokey and muted tones. We like the look overall, but think maybe it is best left for the club, not the office.

Alexandra’s sunset inspired look comes courtesy of gold, orange and pinky red eye shadows. She used a yellow-gold colour in the corner of her eye as well as below her brow to widen and open her eye. An orange shadow all over her lid and a pink-red in the crease create depth.
Alexandra used L.A. Colors 5 Color Metallic Eye Shadow (US$4.00)

Jenni used blues, pinks and purples in tri- colour look. Her muted colours add a little somethin’ somethin’ without being overpowering. She used her signature cat eye liner to widen her eyes but to match her blue shadow and to add drama, her liner is royal blue.
Jenni used The Color Institute Beauty Balance Complete Face Compact (C$20.00)

Michelle is sparkling like a Twilight vampire in her iridescent tri-colour look. Her three bold colours are toned down in pastels which make them wearable for daytime. We love her choice of deep green, purple and light beige, colours that compliment her skin and hair colour.
Michelle used Make Up For Ever Star Powder (C$20.00)

Put on some Purple Rain by Prince and mauve to the beat (I’m sorry- argh, puns are my weakness!) But seriously, Tammy’s eyes look ten times bigger with her purple and grey combo. She used the lightest purple to widen in the corners, a richer purple in the middle and a grey in the crease. She brushed the shadow outwards then blended to create a seamless look.
Tammy used M.A.C. "In the Groove" Togetherness (C$20.00)

They all look lovely. I especially like Michelle's eyeshadow combination. All the looks are day appropriate. All they need to do is add a little black or dark brown eyeshadow in the outer v for a night time look!

I think you could wear it any where during the day and add to it to give it a little more pop for nighttime.
