What's with winter and black? It's like as soon as the cold weather hits, we all collectively put away anything pastel or bright and instead opt for greys, blacks and the occasional white. Wearing all those dark colours seriously gets me in a funk. I am fairly certain that S.A.D. (seasonal affective disorder) is in part caused by winter wardrobes. Besides, who was this (clearly awful) person that said winter can't be colourful?

In an effort to toss off my winter blues and get cheerful, I decided to start looking for non black pieces to fill my closet. Okay, so I may not actually be in __________ (insert sunny location here) but I can still have the wardrobe for it, right?
