We Love Fridays: Leopard Print Heels

Posted by Alexandra C. | Friday August 26, 201110 comments

This Friday, I am in love with Brian Atwood's fall 2011 leopard print, lace up stilettos. Ignore the fact that these look slightly terrifying. Concentrate instead on the fact that they are leopard print with a ribbon that laces up in a pretty hot way. While you may look intoxicated while walking in these for the first time, these shoes are definitely swoon-worthy. Think of the compliments and fits of jealous rage you'd incite while walking down the street in these eye catching pretty things. (image via brianatwood.com

I would wear these adorable Brian Atwood stilettos with skinny jeans and a form fitting tee for a casual look but I could see them in fall with curve hugging knee length dress to really amp it up. What do you think Chicks? Would you ever splurge on a pair of attention getting heels?

Oh hell YES. Leopard skin print heels are right up my alley. I even
have a fau fur leopard print winter coat. LOVE it. Shoes? Even more so! Not leopard print, but I also have a pair of heels which have a
gorgeous scarlet hibiscus print on them and a golden heel. Open back. They are
stunningly beautiful. I nearly wet myself when I initially saw them! Then some black platform stiletto snake print embossed
ones, peep toe. Then a pair of 4 1/2 inch booties with chains and studs on them,
which are great for wearing with pants of any kind, even jeans. Even
when I walk by my closet and see them, I love looking at them all. I
definitely don't wear heels all the time especially since I just got
out of a wheelchair in the last 6 months and am still undergoing
physical therapy, but when I do, I want them to look kick @ss, for sure. I have never been one for buying boring heels.

wow thank you ladies for all the suggestions!! I have some gorgeous heels that I'd love to wear but I don't dare wear them if I know I'm going to walk at all.

@AlexJC I will try the insoles and let you know how it goes :) I'm sure I can pick them up at payless, right?
@jskim07 not TMI but makes me feel better cuz whenever I've tried heels, my feet end up looking like something out of the casualty ward too lol.
@tammy I will def' try the freezer trick! I've heard of the trick on how to make your shoes / heels half a size bigger. You take plastic bags, fill 'em with water. Put them into your shoes and put the shoes into the freezer. The water will expand and turn to ice, the shoes will grow half a size bigger. Neat huh? :)

@ Becky - For me, I can hardly wear heels at all! In most of my pictures you'll see that I don't wear heels to work. I've tried insoles and pads and other things but nothing has worked for me so far. My only option is to not wear heels as much as the next girl :( It sucks but I can't stand having painful feet/legs.

Also, I heard from somewhere that when you want to wear a pair of heels, you can put it outside in the winter or in the freezer if it's not cold enough and let it sit for a couple of hours. Then when you put it on you can have it on for hours and it won't hurt. I've never tried it yet but hopefully that will actually work or at least lessen the pain a little.

@Becky, Can't tell you how many blisters I have on my feet right now due to heels. NO pain no gain though, eh? hahaha. My mom actually starting secretly planting in insoles to all my heels so that I wouldn't get so many blisters/ ruin them with my blood. TMI? I hope not!
I recommend you get some insoles, so buy heels that are half a size bigger than your natural size, and shove those insoles in! Your feet will still hurt, but not as much as before!

Also, bubble skirts! That might actually look really cute, thanks for the tip!

@Becky Personally, I am not sure if I could stand these stiletto puppies for very long but I am a heel wearer and I wear high heels almost every day. Insoles me help as well as those little clear rubber pads you can buy to put in certain areas (I am totally blanking on a brand or proper name though!). You can buy moleskin as well which is sticky on side and soft on the other to help in rubbing areas. If you still can't stand it- go to wedges! Wedges give height but are way more comfy and stick to something with ankle support! Other than that- when I first starting wearing heels, I would always tell myself to walk as if I didn't have the heel there, keep practising and you'll look more natural!

I have a legit question for you ladies: when you walk on shoes like this with yay-long heels, does your feet not kill you? I don't know if it's just me, or if I'm doing something wrong that makes mine hurt. Any ideas on how to make it hurt less so I can actually walk in high heels?

And if I had the extra $$ I wouldn't mind a pair either ;) I think these will look good with skinnies as Alexandria said, or even flared or bubble skirts.

Hm. I wonder if I would buy that given I had the money. I'm sure I would, but not sure about what I would wear it with. Anyone have any suggestions? lol
