This Yay or Nay- we’re debating a highly controversial trend: The Crop Top. I studied fashion in college and this subject was pretty much a minefield any time it was brought up. On the one hand, we have designers like Alexander Wang who showed the trend on the runway. We also have the celeb followers of the crop top, and these are heavy weights like Rihanna and Diane Kruger. On the other hand, we have the naysayers- those who think it comes off slightly tarty, immature or just plain passé (hello- Clueless in the 90’s!)

I myself own a long sleeve cropped sweater which only shows my stomach if I lift my arms up. I have worn it once or twice with high waisted skirts. I feel like this is the trick to wearing a crop top- balance it out with a high waisted bottom or long skirts. Check out the three crop top options below- would you be brave enough to bare it all in one of these? Or maybe you already own one?

Exposing the belly button is what dates the look and makes this a big Nay for me, but when worn age-appropriately and in a tasteful and flattering way (this being a very tricky thing to pull off), I could be okay with it. Not on me though!

When I could pull it off, I did. Wouldn't even try now, though. If you can look good in a crop top, wear them as much as you can while you can.

Couldn't care less about what other people think about what I choose to wear.
