I thoroughly enjoyed the Premier Protein Caramel Shake sample that I received through ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club. I had forgotten that I signed up for the campaign so I was pleasantly surprised to receive this in the mail. I haven't been eating or sleeping well these past several weeks since losing my husband, and this shake arrived at the right time to help me get back on track to eating properly again. I had it as a lunch substitute yesterday during a very busy day at work. It was delicious; I love the flavour of caramel. And it kept me full until dinner much later in the evening. I'm adding this to my grocery list so that I can keep a stash of these at my office. -

This review for ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club is a bit late because, like others, I had a tough time finding Canada Dry Lemonade Flavoured Ginger Ale in grocery stores. It took me over two weeks to find a store where I could redeem the coupon I received to review this product. My husband and I love ginger ale and were a bit skeptical about lemonade flavoured ginger ale; however, it was love at first sip. The lemonade flavour smooths the bite from the ginger and makes for a very pleasant summertime drink. We loved it and can't wait to introduce our family and friends to the new Canada Dry Lemonade Flavoured Ginger Ale. Hopefully more stores will start to carry it! -

"Sometimes even destiny needs a little bit of help." With that thought in mind, you will delve into the life of Justine Carmichael, a writer-journalist who takes fate into her hands when she alters the astrological readings for the zodiac sign Aquarius in the magazine that she writes for. Her actions backfire when Nick Jordan, struggling Shakespearean actor, interprets his horoscopes literally and pursues different decisions than the ones she is coaxing him toward. Her actions also impact the lives of others reading the magazine, creating a series of smaller side plots. The story is sweet and I can see the book doing well with book clubs because there are a number of discussion topics, including horoscopes and astrology, pursuing one's passion (over what others may expect or demand of us), and whether there is only one true love for every person (and if so, is it proper to intervene if an opportunity presents itself). I found the story to be a bit predictable, but I did enjoy it. First, let me qualify this review by saying that I'm a HUGE fan of Aveeno's Cracked Skin Repair product line. Thanks to ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club, I have had the opportunity to try and provide an independent review of two products from this line: the CICA Balm and the CICA Ointment. I absolutely love the CICA Balm (see review here) and am very pleased by the results of using the CICA Ointment. The only drawback for me is the silicone applicator tip. It is tricky to use, and takes some getting used to. The applicator tip is intended to help you apply the ointment so that you don't need to get your hands messy. I ended up using my fingers to ensure the ointment covered my rough elbows evenly, and then massaged any leftover ointment onto my hands since I have dry skin. Overnight, the immediate results after the first night of use were awesome. My dry elbows looked and felt softer, and the skin on my hands don't feel as rough or dry. An unintended bonus side effect is that the cuticles on my fingers look fantastic! They are usually dry and ragged, but the ointment seems to have solved that lingering issue. A few more days of using this ointment, my elbows and hands should be looking as fine as my feet (which were rescued by the CICA Balm). The weather is getting nicer and I'm ready for short-sleeves and summer sandals. I would highly recommend the Aveeno Cracked Skin Repair CICA Ointment to anyone looking for an easily portable intensive dry skin therapy, and if you're looking for something that you can keep handy at home, give the CICA Balm a try. -

Thanks to ChickAdvisor Product Review Club, I received the Aveeno Cracked Skin Relief CICA Balm for review last week. Since receiving it, I have used the Balm for three consecutive days. It has done wonders to remedy the extreme dryness and cracked skin on the soles of my feet. From the very first application. There was a marked improvement in the condition of my feet after the first night's application of the Balm. To avoid staining, I would recommend applying immediately before going to bed and wearing a light pair of cotton socks (that you won't mind getting stained). Be prepared to be amazed. After three nights of using this Balm, my feet are ready for summer sandal season. A few more applications, and I won't be able to tell these are my feet - based on their condition less than a week ago. I highly, highly recommend the Aveeno Cracked Skin Repair CICA Balm if you have extremely dry, cracked skin in need of immediate remedy. One container should provide more than enough for over a month of daily use if applied to both feet. -

I was very excited when Walmart recently started to carry Shea Moisture hair products in Canada, and decided to try the Green Coconut & Activated Charcoal Purifying & Hydrating Shampoo (384mL, approx. $10). First, it smells divine! If you love the smell of coconuts, this shampoo will transport you to a tropical paradise. Second, this shampoo works. It cleans your hair without any harsh chemicals. No sulphates, no parabens, no phthalates, no mineral oil, no petrolatum, and no animal testing. This shampoo uses activated charcoal to remove excess oils and buildup to rebalance oily roots/scalp and dry ends. The green coconut adds moisture to your hair. If you're looking for a shampoo that delivers a luxurious treat in the shower, give this one a try. If you have scent sensitivities, you may need to skip this because the smell can be strong, especially if you're not a fan of coconuts. -

I've been using the Aveeno Positively Radiant MaxGlow Infusion Drops for the past three weeks, as part of ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club where I received the serum for free in exchange for reviewing the product honestly after using it for a sustained period. I have combination skin with an oily T-zone, and usually spend a lot of money on facial moisturizers and serums. The MaxGlow Infusion Drops are well-priced (in the $25-$30 range) and work relatively well when used in combination with a good moisturizer. It absorbed quickly into my skin and did not leave an oily or dewy finish. However, it did not leave my skin moisturized without needing moisturizer so I added the Infusion Drops to my regular moisturizer to give it an added boost. I did not notice a marked improvement to my skin, or any added "lit from within" glow or radiance. However, it did not adversely affect my skin so I would consider it a minor win. If you're in the market for an affordable serum or moisturizer add-in, I would suggest giving this a try. -

I received the Aveeno Positively Radiant MaxGlow No-Mask Sleep Mask to try as part of ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club. After using this product faithfully for 3 weeks, I'm still not convinced if it is leaving my skins softer, smoother or more radiant. I found the no mess silicone applicator to be fussy to use; while it was a perk to not have to wash my hands after applying the sleep mask, the applicator brush-head felt strange against my skin. It definitely takes getting used to. The product was easy to remove in the morning, and did not leave a stain on my pillow or pj's (I often sleep with my cheek resting against my arm). Like others have mentioned, I've been using it as more of a nighttime moisturizer than a sleep mask since I haven't seen any visible improvement in my skin condition, and it feels more like a night cream than a sleep mask. Hopefully others have had a better experience and better results with this product. -

The Aveeno Positively Radiant MaxGlow Peel-Off Mask was easy to use and so easy to remove. It's the first peel-off mask that I've used that peeled off in one piece. I have combination skin with an oily T-zone; this mask helped to rebalance my skin and made my pores less noticeable. My face felt great after using the mask. While I couldn't tell if I was more radiant, I felt that way because my skin felt wonderful. Thanks Aveeno, and thanks to ChickAdvisor for sharing this product with me as part of their Product Review Club! -
