Trending in Fashion: The Peter Pan Collar

How can you bring an outfit form blah to ba-bang? How can you achieve a super cute and original look with just one addition?

Let me introduce you to the 'Peter Pan Collar'!

Designers have adopted the trend in their own ways with scallop detailing, contrasting colours and prints.

The peter pan collar has been rising in popularity for some time now. With some help from Hollywood's brightest style stars and with the variety of styles of the peter pan collar, it's hard not to jump on the trend bandwagon.

(clockwise from left) Alexa Chung pops her collar underneath a grey sweater; Emma Watson's collar complements her pixie cute and textured overlay; Hailee Steinfeld stands out in an embellished jewelled collar.

Rock the peter pan collar in a dress or top: either way, it's a fun and retro look!

So, a peter pan collar isn't your thing but you still love the look of one? Why not try a collar necklace? These options come in jewelled or metallic options that can take a basic outfit to the next level.

They're adorable, that's for sure, but what about the wearability of the peter pan collar? Do you think this look can be translated from the runway into everyday wear? Or do you think this trend will be short-lived?

Sorry it looks like something either my grandma would wear or something I might put on my small child.

Although I think this is an innovative piece of jewelry, I personally, would not wear this piece, I think it is too chunky. It is pretty though and I definitely would comment on it if I saw someone else wearing it. I think it will be short lived.

I think this trend is cute! It is not necessarily my style but I do like the way that it looks on other people

Definitely one of my favorite trends. I think this look is really wearable! My style is sometimes a little vintage so this is perfect for me. The metal necklaces (like the one above from asos) are great for adding a bit of edge too!

Definitely not a fan of the Peter Pan Collar. There may be a few fashionistas who can pull this off but I doubt the majority could...or want to...
The inspiration for the jewelry however could absolutey catch on! Love that its something new!
