5 Celeb Baby-Bump Styles We Love

Posted by Ali | Friday April 22, 20113 comments

Now that I'm pregnant I can't help noticing baby bumps everywhere. There are some very stylish celebrities who have due dates fairly close to me and I love seeing how they are dressing up—or camouflaging—their bulging bellies.

I was going to include Natalie Portman in this roundup, but she wore this and I find the rose unforgivable.

Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson in a graphic dress (via Parents.com) and beach-side in a breezy caftan (via popsugar.com).

Kate's style is unaffected by her pregnancy. In fact, I'd guess neither of these pieces came from a maternity section. She always wears flowing fabrics and isn't afraid to show skin—or not wear a bra, but that is another discussion.

I love the abstract patterns on both of these pieces and the asymmetrical one shoulder look adds a hint of sexiness.

Victoria Beckham

Victoria in spiked heels and leather leggings at Heathrow (via popsurgar.com) and suede boots post-flight (via popsugar.com).

Of course Posh would be the only pregnant woman in the world to not show at this stage even though she's on her fourth baby. She's actually due the same month as me, but this was her at about four months looking better than ever. At this stage, I couldn't zip my fly. Just sayin'.

No matter how in fashion bright pops of colour are, I can't get enough of the elegance and timelessness of black and white. A fitted jacket with strong shoulders over a flowing top and tights is a very flattering look regardless of whether you are trying to hide a bulge or not. And who doesn't love the over the knee boots with tights? This is a look you can wear during the majority of your pregnancy, assuming swollen ankles are not a factor.

Ivanka Trump

Ivanka Trump in a cozy flight-ready sweater (via Zimbio.com) and goddess-like on the red carpet (via cultureslant.com).

Ivanka may not be an obvious style choice, but I admire her as a businesswoman because she has an excellent poker face. If you haven't seen her poker face, catch an episode of The Apprentice. It is the ultimate power.

Don't you love that big knitted cardigan? I adore anything that feels like I'm wearing a blanket. This is also something she can continue to wear after pregnancy.

The white dress, while it does emphasize her bazookas in an almost comical way, does a great job camouflaging her condition because of the gathering over the belly and the distraction of bare skin with one shoulder.

Selma Blair

Selma Blair in a string bikini on the beach (via thesuperficial.com) and walking her dog (via x17online.com).

The fact that Selma can wear an itty-bitty bikini at this stage of her pregnancy is quite a feat. I can tell you firsthand that the rear end expands almost as fast as the front so most of us at this stage would look ridiculous in this. Of course the paps took a shot from the back, but that's rude, isn't it? She looks gorgeous.

The little dress with the cowboy boots is an ideal (and comfortable!) weekend look. Again, probably not maternity.

Jewel

Jewel in a beautifully-draped yellow dress (via celebritybabyscoop.com)  and showing off her legs in a black dress (via bittenandbound.com).

Jewel is wearing my favourite shade of yellow, which scores instant style points in my book. Is there any colour fresher than yellow? What I love about her LBD is that she is showing leg. Not all pregnant women feel comfortable in bare thighs well into the second trimester, but she pulls it off with class.

Whose style do you like the best?

How Victoria can walk in those 90 degree heels, even if she wasn't pregnant, I'll never know.

wow look at Victoria Beckham, she doesn't look pregnant at all. There's not one once of fat on her. She looks amazing.

Wow, as always these celebs look sickeningly good for their stage of maternity. The kind of good that sends the rest of us mortals diving into a bag of Double-Stuf Oreos... but hey - I can be happy for them :)

Kate Hudson and Victoria Beckham definitely stand out to me, although all of these mommies are quite stunning. I'm not so much a fan of Jewel in the LBD but have to give her kudos for going there.
