DIY Pore Tightening Face Mask

Posted by Alexandra C. | Wednesday July 10, 201314 comments

Whenever I see anyone with flawless skin I immediately want to know their secret, though few of us are comfortable enough to march right up and ask.

Some people are less shy about approaching strangers for their beauty intel, and this time the answer was a homemade face mask that tightens pores, is anti-inflammatory and moisturizes.

The mask contains avocado, yoghurt and turmeric. The avocado's "good" fats nourish the skin and minimize inflammation, while the yoghurt acts as a creamy and cooling base. Turmeric also has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties making it excellent for eczema and acne.

To make the mask, mix together 2 Tbsp of plain yoghurt, 1/4 of a small avocado and 1/4 tsp of turmeric. The recipe can be adjusted based on your skincare needs, but keep in mind that turmeric is a bright yellow colour and can stain.

Would you try this mask?

Great idea! If someone has tried this on fair skin and it doesn't stain, let me know what proportions were used. This is an awesome idea!

I would love to try this, and I have all the ingredients necessary all the time in the house, but I'm worried about the last part about "staining".

Turmeric is in a LOT of beauty products including Nars Foundation and Estee Lauder skincare...
It is also known to brighten the skin and bring back radiance :)

I'd also be curious to know if it would stain your skin...maybe temporarily, depending on your natural skin tone? I'd give it a shot though.
