Tip Tuesday: Easy DIY Pore Strips

Posted by Alexandra C. | Tuesday April 23, 201320 comments

Blackheads? More like blarrghhhheads. No one likes when these little guys come around. Thankfully, there's a simple, inexpensive DIY to help you get rid of the nasty things.

What you need:

1 Tbsp Unflavored Gelatin
1 1/2 to 2 Tbsp Milk (in a microwave-safe bowl)
Sticks to stir with and apply

Here's the how-to:

Mix the gelatin and the milk together until you get a consistency like the one above. Add more milk if needed until you have the right consistency. It will turn to gelatin quickly, so be sure to mix fast. Microwave for 10-15 seconds and immediately apply onto face. Let sit for 30 seconds and peel off to reveal a softer, less blackhead-side of your skin!

Would you try this beauty DIY?

Definitely! I first heard about how to make an at-home version on The Doctors (tv show) a couple of years ago. Besides, it's less expensive, and they actually showed a person on the show right after trying it.

I think I'd rather buy the strips then take the chance at this one.

I'd like to know if anyone has tried this and how it worked out for them. I think I have some unflavoured gelatin hiding in my cupboards somewhere. I might just try this out tonight if I do. Thanks Alex
