Why Online Shopping Is Better

Why online shopping is better
I know a lot of people are still afraid to shop online, but to them I say, get over it because I'm about to prove it is far superior to slugging through the malls.  You will save money, time and parking.   I apologize in advance if reading this leads to immediate online shopping on your part.

Better Deals

All stores have sales, but the kind of deals you can score online can be compounded by a quick search for online deal codes.  Sites like RedFlagDeals.com, SmartCanucks.ca, retailmenot.com, CanadianFreeStuff.com and countless others post codes for major online retailers that might not be advertised on the brand's site.  If you get lucky you can even use multiple online codes at once!

Stick to your exact budget

There is something sobering about seeing the numbers tally up as you add items to your cart. You find yourself doing what you should be doing when shopping at the bricks and mortar location.  You ask yourself:  Self, do I really need this?  Does it fit my budget?  Questions that seem to matter less when you're admiring yourself in the change room.

Less impulse buying

I'm so bad at sticking to my list when I go to the store.  It doesn't matter if it's food or shoes, I always wind up with a lot of things I didn't intend to buy.  Like picture frames from the grocery store when all I needed was some baby wipes. True story.

I use GroceryGateway.com now and my food life is so much better for it.  Not only do I no longer have the hassle of loading my baby into the car then the grocery cart, then back in the car, I do not haul groceries, I do not realize at the cash I forgot my reusable bags, and I do not buy chocolate bars in line that I regret while eating in the car on the way home.  And, of course I stick to my exact budget.

Access to reviews

Before making a new purchase I always search for reviews first.  If the rating isn't good, I'm not buying it.  Obviously I'm biased towards reviews from founding ChickAdvisor, but it saves a lot of money to only buy things that have been well vetted. I actually use my products up completely now.

Of course, there are still number of Canadian retailers that need to get off their behinds and start offering their wares online, but I think we're off to a decent start.

So!  Have I convinced you?

I am definitely convinced. What has usually turned me off of online shopping is that you have to spend so much time sleuthing out the good deals....but I guess that's no different than the time you spend driving, parking, and sleuthing out the deals at the mall (except walking the mall gets me off my butt). I'll definitely check out some of the sites you recommended.

I have to admit I'm a bit of a online shopping-a-holic lol. I'm always buying books, dvds, shoes and clothes from the comfort of my bed. Especially since I live in a little rural area that doesn't get the stores I love.

I love to shop online because I can do it whenever I want from the comfort of my bed!

One of my favourite sites for online shopping is wanelo.com :
http://www.wanelo.com/ They get their members to post links and pictures of all the cool things and products they find online, I can spend hours there looking at all these awesome products you wouldn't normally find elsewhere.

Takoda, I apologize in advance for any marital issues that may arise from my excellent suggestions.

Shuey, most stores have great return policies. Some even provide free return shipping. Some will let you return items in store if they have a retail location. One online store I like to shop at is Hush Puppies, but they make you pay for return shipping. You should always read the terms and conditions before making your purchases. Also, if in doubt only shop with stores that are well known or that have been recommended to you by a trusted source.

The last thing I order online (through E bay) took 8 weeks to get. The tracking # I was given still shows that its "in route". I'm nervous to buy clothing because sizes vary so much. I guess I have to look into return policy's. Please let me know, if you have an experience with returning; is it a issue? Other than that. I love online shopping for all the reasons listed above.

Yes You have! I was always afraid to shop on line, but I have started
doing more of it in the last few months. I wish I could do my groceries
on line, but I don't have a store that delivers where I live. The only
one that did closed down years ago. It makes it really hard for people
that have a hard time getting around. I wish one would bring it back. I
should bring it up to a few places, I know it would bring their sales
way up if they did, even if it was just a few days a week. As I matter
of a fact you've convinced me so much, I think I'll do some shopping on
line today. My hubby is going to hate you Ali.LOL
