Yay or Nay: Jennifer Morrison Red Carpet Menswear

As a guilty pleasure fan of the show Once Upon A Time, I'm actually a kind of a closeted Jennifer Morrison fan. I like her cute, unique style and her tough as nails attitude, which is why when I saw her rock a men's suit on the red carpet, I was pretty impressed with her moxie.

I'm usually not a fan of women doing menswear, it always feels a bit like a novelty and too kitschy to me. However, I'm inclined to give a 'Well, played' nod to Ms. Morrison here for this androgynous look. I think it works mostly because she's contrasted her masculine look with very feminine makeup and hair. That crimson pout is gorgeous with her porcelain skin and her milkmaid-esque braid goes surprisingly well with her suit.

There is one thing that seriously bugs me about this look: the cut. It feels way too bulky and casual to me. I would have loved to have seen Jennifer is something a little sleeker and fitted to show off a bit of curve. However, when it comes to fashion, I think everyone should just go for it and have fun with it! Never play it safe! So, for this menswear look, I am going to give Jennifer a pass.

What do you think? Is this gender bending outfit a yay or nay? Leave a comment with your vote by April 29th for a chance to win!

What awesomesauce prize can you snag this week?

I say yay. She wears it well. I like the style and she works it better than most. If it were more tapered I think it would take away from the "menswear style" and would be too reminiscent of the 80's version minus the big, sharp shoulder pads.

The hair looks very nice as well, but I will admit I'd rather see it a little softer, she still wears it quite well.

As a finishing touch, I just love the crimson lips.

I gotta go with nay! I've never liked this trend plus I feel like it covers up her femininity. A red carpet event deserves a little more pizazz in my opinion.

Yay - strong and bold look. Not a fan of the hairstyle though.
