Ali in Argentina: Cordoba

This is Cordoba. It's the 3rd largest city in Argentina and it's where we've been staying for the past few days. Unlike Buenos Aires, it has a more intimate feel with pockets of small neighborhoods and a smaller downtown core. This view shows the major shopping mall, which of course you know I've already scoured. I'm sorry to report that shopping here isn't the greatest. The clothes are somewhat out dated, over priced and sporting a few too many frills for my liking. This has actually been a blessing since my VISA bill will be lower than budgeted. However, I have been quite excited about the shoes and the belts because for the most part, they are excellent quality and less than you'd pay in Canada or the U.S. To date though, I've stuck to practical shoes that are comfortable for walking long distances.
This is a gorgeous old church near the older part of town. I'm always amazed at the intricacy of ancient cathedrals.
A view of the city from the roof of our hotel.
This is what we did today. It's scorching hot here - too warm to sight see. I know, you all hate me now. Our hotel has a roof top pool and a cute little sitting area where you can read a book and order cappuccino and other delights from the bar or kitchen. Would it embarrass you by association to know I've been devouring Breaking Dawn (Twilight)?

We are hoping to take a trip to the mountains, about an hour away where they have a cute little German village and lots of hiking trails. I'm fighting a cold at the moment that I inherited from the husband so we'll see how adventurous I feel in the next day or so.
