You've spent months growing a beautiful head of hair, why would you want to lose it to brittle, broken ends? Long hair needs lots of moisture and vitamins to keep it strong and healthy and to prevent breakage. Try one of these products, there is something for every price point.

1. Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship Shampoo C$4.59/US$3.75
Red raspberry and Brazilian silk strengthen and condition your hair to lock in moisture that will keep it from breaking and splitting at the ends.

2. Tressemmé Anti-Breakage Shampoo C$7.15/US$4.24
It’s infused with gelatin to reduce breakage and splitting while keratin (a natural protein) and amino acids help to re-strengthen your strands.

3. Pantene Pro-V Beautiful Lengths Shampoo C$8.00/US$8.95
Aquacurrent Science directs the movement of moisture to where your strands need it most and conditioning agents make it easy to comb through decreasing styling damage.

4. Nexxus Pro-Mend Shampoo C$10.15/US$9.99
The formula helps to wash away impurity build up that weighs down and damages the shaft while filling hair follicles with nourishing and strengthening ingredients like coconut oil and keratin.

5. TIGI Bed Head Self Absorbed Mega Nutrient Shampoo C$18.00/US$13.25
Infused with Vitamin E (found in anti-aging creams) to keep hair strong and flexible, and helps regulate Vitamin A, a natural growth agent.

6. Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Shampoo C$14.95/US$19.25
KeraTriplex (a blend of 3 proteins) target the cortex of hair cells and rebuild the bonds to help prevent breakage and splitting.

Do you have long hair? What do you do to keep it looking and feeling healthy?

I've never really thought of using a long hair shampoo, but I probably should.
I'm thinking I might try the Pantene Beautiful lengths when I run out of the stuff I'm using right now.

I am always trying to grow my hair, but it breaks off before it gets very long. So frustrating. Thanks for the suggestions.

I have really long hair, and I often trim about an inch a month on my own because I often get split ends, but I have been using the Pantene beautiful lengths and I feel like it has made a really big difference! I would love to try the other brands listed in this article. Great finds!
