Lace has been strutted on the runways for a few seasons now, but recent trends are stepping away from the classic Victorian lady-like image, as women are opting for a more lacey-racey look. .

Here’s how designers styled their models in sheer lace for their Spring/Summer 2011 RTW and Resort runway shows...

Now I look at this and I shudder a little bit inside. The only ones I like here are Oscar de la Renta and what Emma Watson is wearing. I think this is the sort of thing that looks great in small doses. Like a black lace top that isn't overly sheer. But I'm more of a conservative dresser in general.
