Yay or Nay: Kirsten Dunst is a Checkerboard

Posted by Alexandra C. | Monday January 21, 201398 comments

Oh em gee. I love Kirsten Dunst. She's so cute and quirky and she was in the cinematic masterpiece known as Bring It On. I also love her because she wore a checkerboard dress from Louis Vuitton's Spring 2013 collection.

Our new co-op Melissa thought that this dress was hideous and did nothing for her shape. At first glance, you might be thinking the same thing. But I'm here to defend Kiki Dunst's choice because I love this dress. I love the neckline, I love the sleeve length, I love how it's a column, shift dress cut.

I know that you're probably all going, 'No Alex, it isn't love, it's lust. It's infatuation. Think about it a little while and look again, you'll see that it's actually super fug'. To that I say, 'Not a chance'. I'm especially in love with the fabric. I love that mustardy brown hue and the sheen of the satin. You guys it's true love, and true love lasts a lifetime.

Kristen Stewart, Kerry Washington and Jessica Alba are all fans of the collection as well (see here) but I still think Dunst worked it the best.

So, are you guys on Team Melissa or Team Alex? Is this totally awful or totally amazing? Leave a comment with your yay or nay vote by January 27th for a chance to win a prize!

I love her hair and her make up. I like the back of the dress. I even like the tones of the colours however the front of her dress is not flattering at all for her body type. I will have to say NAY on this one.

I first I was taken aback and thought No! It's too hard on the eyes but after a second look it's not too bad, it needs to be a little shorter then maybe it won;t be so hard to look at but I like the neckline, the pattern and the color so I say Yay!

I'm going to have to say Nay! One, the fabric looks like cheap silk, however, it looks like a cheap satin. She looks like she's wearing a overdone tablecloth, except in two other colours. Two, i do like how the beige brings out her hair, skin tone and eyes. it doesn't really flatter her figure either. But, and like i said, the colours were/are a good choice for her.

Nay! I'm Team Melissa. It is way too busy for me. I think if it was shorter and had a different color with a different back on it, it would look nice.

Nay, it's just awful. The length, pattern. It's simply hideous.

Nay. I like the shape of the dress, but it is a little too over-wealming.

I like the pattern and was wondering what about the dress was rubbing me the wrong way. I think that the dress would look better if it was shorter. The bottom of the dress with the shoes bothers me somehow. I also like the material of the dress.
