How To Wear: The Cropped Sweater

Posted by Hafsa | Friday October 15, 20104 comments
With the fall season here and winter right around the corner, it's time for us to bring out the knitwear. We reported last week on the oversized sweater trend, and now we show you how to wear the other extreme-- the cropped sweater!

Whitney Port, Chantelle Houghton, Leighton Meester

Belly-skimming tops can be tricky to pull off.  Here's how we'd style them:
All Saints Aglaea Cropped Jumper (US$95), Old Navy Satin-trim Tank (US$18), Old Navy Cords (US$40)
Alexander Wang Cotton-knit Cropped Sweater (US$553), Forever 21 Stirrup Knit Leggings (US$6.90)
Delias Ella Printed Dolman (US$19.50), New Look Button High Waisted Shorts (US$28), Forever 21 Plain Knit Tights (US$6.80)
Topshop Dot Crop Jumper (US$90), Zara Floaty Ash Grey Baggy Trousers (US$48)
River Island Grey Short Sleeved Cropped Jumper (US$58), Sundance Harems (US$17)
New Look Cropped Boucle Jumper (US$40), Forever 21 Ponte Pencil Skirt (US$9.80)

My favourite look is the last one with the high waisted pencil skirt. I'm not really into the way Leighten Meister bared midriff. I get that it's a cropped sweater, but this is winter! I like the look much more when your stomach is still covered (with either high waisted bottoms or a tank under)

Yeah I'm really not a big fan of these, and I would definitely not be able to pull it off either!

Meh, I like these stylings but as it's a look I don't think I could personally pull off, it's hard to get excited about. The layered grays (first look) are quite nice though, as is the Alexander Wang asymmetrical sweater.
