Self Tanners: Tan Sans the Sun

To the tune of “Step by Step” by the New Kids on the Block:

Step by step, ooh baby,
Gonna get a tan girl,
Step by step, ooh baby,
A new tan will rock your world

Step one!
Exfoliate your skin
Step two!
Apply the lotion (oOo)
Step three!
Wash your hands, stay orange free
Step four!
You can head out the door
Step five!
Don’t you know that your tan has arrived?

1. Kiehl’s Sun-Free Self-Tanning Formula (C$23.00) is made with Apricot Kernel Oil, Cocoa Seed Butter, and Vitamin E, so it nourishes your skin and provides a faux glow.
2. For a girl that likes to shine at the beach, Victoria’s Secret Beach Sexy Custom Tan Adjustable Self-Tan Lotion with Shimmer (C$16.00) adds a layer of shimmer along with colour.
3. Jergens Natural Glow Revitalizing Daily Moisturizer (C$4.97) gradually builds your tan while the vitamin E treats your skin.
4. For a streak-free and guilt-free glow, The Body Shop Honey Bronze Face Gel (C$14.00) uses honey from sustainable and locally grown hives.
5. Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning (C$35.00) smooths and mattifies your skin, while also working on that subtle glow.
6. The Body Shop Honey Bronze Dry Shimmer Oil (C$14.00) contains Community Fair Trade honey from Ethiopia and beeswax from Cameroon to moisturize your skin.

1. Victoria’s Secret Beach Sexy Daily Glow Gradual Tan Moisturizer SPF 15 (C$14.00) has an added bonus of sunscreen. But that doesn't mean you can skimp on reapplying every two hours.
2. Life Brand Sunthera3 Sunless and Firm Sunless Self-Tanning (C$11.49) does just what it says: adds firmness and glow.
3.Sephora Collection Illuminating Body Oil (C$17.00) illuminates the skin with grape seed oil and metallic shine sans any parabens, sulfates and GMOs.
4. Try Elizabeth Grant Smart Soleil Face Bronzer (C$20.00) for an instant tan in two hours.
5. Elizabeth Grant Smart Soleil Body Bronzer (C$25.00) uses torricelumn, shea butter, allantoin, sodium hyaluronate to tan and moisturize your skin.
6. An unconventional bronzer, LUSH Black Stockings (C$8.95) is a body tint that evens-out skin tone and adds a hint of shimmer.

Which self-tanner would you try to get a faux-glow this summer?

I use the Jergens natural Glow. It makes my skin very soft and smooth, and it gives me a golden tan!

I actually really like the Jergens Natural Glow moisturizer. It didn't leave my skin looking orange at all and a gradual tan appeared. It was really nice.

Sorry. I was in a boy band phase when I was writing this. And I will personally vouch for how good the VS tanners smell.
