Grilled Naan Bread with Bruschetta Recipe

Posted by Diana | Friday August 27, 20108 comments
Despite any controversy on the proper way to pronounce it, bruschetta is a universal hit. Even your tomato-hating friends will agree: this recipe is bursting with flavour.

Grilled Naan Bread with Bruschetta

2 slabs Naan bread
3 vine ripe tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
1/4 cup red onion, chopped
1/2 lime (juice of)
1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
splash olive oil (optional)
salt and pepper to taste

Grill 2 slabs of Naan bread for 1 minute on each side or until desired crispness. If you prefer a soft bread rather than a crispy texture, sprinkle the bread with some water.

Combine all vegetables and spices in a bowl and spoon onto the bread.

Grate the cheese directly over the bruschetta and serve immediately.

Tips

* The bruschetta makes for an amazing fresh salsa if there is any leftover. Try it with lime tortilla chips minus the grated Parmesan.

* If cilantro is too bold a flavour, switch for the more common basil, or according to your taste.

Are you a bruschetta lover?

Thanks for clarifying Cathy! I'm trying to learn Spanish right now so if you have any wisdom to impart for that language as well, I'm all ears!

Looks amazzzing!!

And for the record: in Italian "ch" is always pronounced with a hard "k" sound (and when there is a letter "c" without the h, it is pronounced like the English "ch" sound - as in "church"). Basically the pronunciations are reversed for what English speakers are used to.

So the proper pronunciation of this delicious Italian dish would sound like "brus-ket-tah"

I hope I explained that properly!
