My favourite part of getting ready for a night out on the town, is finding the perfect lip and eye makeup combination. Whether I'm trying on a new style or going back to an old classic, hitting that perfect mix just brings it all together. This year, I decided to do a little recon first to find some standout, trending looks. I'm thinking of it as an audition to see which combo gets the part! Here are a few lip and eye ideas I'm loving this year. Let me know which you think is best!

Combination #1: Bold brows and lashes + glossy magenta lip

The brightness of the lip is played off the subtle neutral shadows but the eyes are still drawing attention with great brows and gorgeous lashes! Try: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Stained Gloss (C$22.00)

Combination #2: Silvery smoky eye + pinky peach lip

A dramatic, dark look on the eyes but with a bit of sparkle to get into party mode is balanced with a light, feminine lip. Try: YSL Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick SPF 15 (C$39.00)

Combination #3: Bronze eye + brick red lip

I think bronze might be the perfect shade for eyes. It's universally flattering and the metallics make it fun but not over the top. I think it goes well with this blue-red shade. Try: Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick (C$28.00)

Combination #4: Minimal eyes + stained berry lip

Think 'off-duty model' for this look. The eyes are kept pretty low key with just a swipe of mascara and some highlight but the lip is vampy and dark. Try: Maybelline SuperStay 10HR Stain Gloss (C$8.07)

Combination #5: Winged liner and tinted red balm

Chic winged liner is a stand-by and the ultimate go-to for any party. I would usually do a matte red for this but I decided to opt instead for a semi-glossy, tinted balm instead for a softer look. Try: Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm (C$19.00)

Combination #6: Jewel toned eyes + coral lip

Jewel tones bring all the focus onto your peppers. I like the idea of pairing this with a light coral lip for a less heavy and dramatic look. Usually a coral is reserved for spring or summer, but with a deeper eye, it works out. Try: Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick (C$19.00)

Which would you go with?

3-6, I would definitely do. 2 is okay, and while I love the lip colour in #1, I never understood the whole boy brow hype. I really do think Cara needs some tweezers... she's so pretty and just a little bit of a cleanup would open up her whole face. Bold brows are in style, but I think that's too bold

My favourite by far is Combo #2- the silvery smoky eye and pinky peach lip. This is such a youthful and sexy look. So great for a glam holiday party look. I think smoky eyes look great on just about everyone.
