Makeup Transformation: Matching Make Up
Matching your eye shadow to your nails or lips or matching all three together has long been a practice only for those of the old school make up philosophy. These days, matching your eyes to your blush to your lips and even to your nails is not only unnecessary but it can be over the top. However, Christian Dior showed this look on the Spring 2012 runway and we kind of love the polished and put together look. Make up artist and YouTuber Lisa Eldridge also caught on this trend and put together a tutorial showing how to pull off this monochromatic look, the video is up and posted here. We saw monochromatic fashion become a trend recently, make up just seems to be a natural progression. We decided to give it a try for make up transformation. We took before pictures- with our regular everyday make up and then after pictures with a matchy- matchy palette.

Hey Everyone! Thanks for all your comments!
I wouldn't do it there is too much effort behind it and I really don't think anyone is going to notice.
For a special occasion I would definitely consider doing this - especially in the red colour like Michelle's.
okay, wow!i had no idea how much of a difference matching nail polish makes!I am definitely going to try this!Probably tomorrow :D
I actually like this trend just be sure not to match to much, maybe match just two things
You all look adorable. | |
Mandy sizzles! That pink is great.
I actually don't mind matchy-matchy as long as it is not over-done. Nail polish and a lip gloss matching is good, but if you add the eye liner, shadow, blush, lipstick etc then it is just way too much. I think subtle is the key.
i honestly dont think it looks that good |
