Valentines from the Style Collective: 11 Gift Ideas

| Thursday February 10, 20115 comments
For those of you who've yet to sort out your Valentine's Day gifting (and you know who you are - tsk!), our Style Collective has a suggestion or 11 to inspire:

Beauty
The Boyfriend Kit, US$95 (Sephora)

Beauty Editor suggests: "Smell like a boy (in a good way), whether or not there’s actually one in your life this V-Day. Designed by actress Kate Walsh, this new fragrance captures the scent of a guy, on a girl."

Gillette Fusion ProGlide Razor C$14.99 (drugstores and Well.ca), Dermalogica Ultimate Buffing Cloth C$24 (dermalogica.ca), Kiehl’s Close Shavers Shaving Formula 31-0 Shave Oil C$26 (kiehls.ca), LoveFresh Body Goodies Scrubalicious Gift Box C$42 (lovefresh.com)

Beauty Geeks says Valentine's Day is all about grooming: "For him, Gillette Fusion ProGlide and Kiehl’s shave oil together deliver the closest. shave. ever. The Dermalogica buffing cloth is a bracing a.m. body wake-up and exfoliating superstar. For her, the LoveFresh gift box, with delish Pomegranate sugar scrub and body butter, is loaded with natural oils and moisturizers for silky, luscious limbs."

"Be My Valentine" Kit C$48 (dalishcosmetics.com and shopjessicajensen.com)

What I Want-I Got has her eye on: "The DaLish Cosmetics and Jessica Jensen collaboration is the perfect makeup duo. Choose from five limited-edition kits, [each] including a selection of DaLish Cosmetics and a pink embossed ostrich-leather cosmetic bag. Look for my favourite lipstick colour, Ruby Red, in the Berry Delight kit."

Cocoa Camino Dark Hot Chocolate C$8.59, Aura Cacia Aromatherapy Lavender Foam Bath C$3.59, Organic Grooming by Herban Cowboy Shave Brush C$7.47, Natural Grooming by Herban Cowboy Shave Soap C$5.95 (all available at Well.ca)

Well.ca suggests: "Have your man try something new and shave the old fashioned way! Use shave soap with the shave brush to get a more comfortable, quality shave. You can also warm up together with Cocoa Camino’s yummy-licious array of indulgent cocoa products, or with an Aura Cacia aromatherapy bath."

Soap & Glory Clean, Girls body wash C$9.99, Soap & Glory Scrub ‘Em & Leave ‘Em body buff C$14.99, Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss C$9.99

We at ChickAdvisor agree that grooming and primping is an important place to start!  That's why nothing says Sexy Time on Valentine’s Day like a shower. We can’t get enough of these cheeky Soap & Glory products. The flirty scents contain delicious notes of citrus, bergamot, mandarin, jasmine and freesia on a mix of musks, sandalwood, vanilla and amber. As for the Sexy Mother Pucker lip gloss, the name alone is enough to make us want it.

Breakfast in Bed
Valentine Heart Pancake Molds C$5.95/US$4.95 (Crate & Barrel)

Sweet Potato Chronicles says: "We’re all about healthy family food. Scratch the surface, however, and you’ll find pancakes. Every kind you can imagine and more in the works. You could say we’re a little obsessed. So if our sweethearts wanted to spoil us this Valentine’s day they could whip up a batch of these Pumpkin Gingerbread pancakes and make them in these sweet molds. Oh, and let us sleep in."

Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin Rosé C$77.40 (at LCBO), Bodum Chambord 3-Cup Coffee Press C$34.99/US$24.99 (Amazon.ca), Heart-Shaped Egg Fry Rings US$15 (Williams Sonoma), Red Velvet Whoopie Pie Mix C$8.95/US$8.95 (Crate & Barrel)

Kim Vallee agrees:  "Your guy will earn points if he brings you breakfast in bed on Valentine’s Day. To make it easy for him, he could get the heart-shaped egg rings and serve your eggs with a warm French croissant and your favorite berry jam. He can make you a tasty cup of coffee, serve you a chilled glass of Veuve, and then finish the meal with a heart-shaped whoopie pie."

PrettySweet Boutique, Toronto (prettysweetboutique.com)

Coco & Lowe: "The most delicious way to anyone’s heart has to be through their tummy, so why not indulge them with customized cake or cookie pops? Made lovingly by PrettySweet Boutique [in Toronto], these delish pops come in any colour combo and can be made to say anything you like to your love, bestie, co-worker or even to yourself!"

Thoughtful Gifts
Diptyque x Kuntzel+Deygas "Roseros" candles C$94 (Holt Renfrew), Lanvin necklace ($$$!)

I'm The It Girl muses: "Roses are predictable but Roseros are certainly not. French luxury perfumiers Diptyque pay homage to the ‘opposites attract’ love between Beauty and the Beast with a duo of candles, and with help from famed French illustrators Kuntzel+Deygas. One is Rose, a romantic garden rose, and the other, Eros, its spicier counterpart. Together they create a perfect harmony, hence the name Roseros."

The Style House thinks big: "The only thing more delightful than a little love note is something sparkly."

"Let’s Make Out" Pillow US$89 (etsy.com)

Gifted's feeling cheeky: "A little something for your special someone (or current makeout partner). This Valentine’s Day, if you’re feeling a little shy, let the pillow do the talking."

Which is your favourite gift idea?

My friend and I went to Sephora last night and we each sprayed ourselves with the boyfriend kit... Neither of us could stop talking about how good we smelled, the scent is sexy but subtle.. mmm it was so good! I will be returning this week to buy it some.
