Who Should Replace Michael Scott at 'The Office'?
Back in June we heard the news that Steve Carell was checking out of 'The Office'. We met the news with disbelieving disappointment, followed by acceptance of the inevitable. After all, if you aren't thoroughly irritated by Michael Scott at the end of any given episode, well, NBC just hasn't done its job. Recent seasons saw some major story resolutions, and the same old shtick might be getting a little old: last season's viewership took a dip after years of steady growth. While Carell has stated he always intended to leave after Season 7, isn't it time for a shake up?
We're curious: would you prefer to see an existing character promoted (and if so, whom?), or would you rather have a fresh face take over as Dunder Mifflin top banana?

 | I think Kevin or (my secret fave) Stanley would be hilarious as top dog. While Dwight seems the obvious choice, there's nothing like watching him kiss @ss and scheme at the same time. |

| I think the dynamic of the show will be completely changed as well. I think without Michael Scott, 'The Office' will be really different and something will always be missing. |
| From what I hear, they are not going to bring in another actor as Michael Scott (ie. recast). The question is if they'll introduce a new character to take over the branch, or if they'll fill the manager position internally. |
 | In my opinion, I don't think they would ever find an actor good enough to replace Steve Carrel as Michael Scott. If they do decide to continue the show without him, I don't think it will last many years after his absence. However, if the show does continue for am eighth season, I have a feeling that we'll see Jim reenter the top position and Dwight will continue his plot to take over. If Michael Scott leaves the show, I think they will have his character get back together with Holly and they'll gat married and he'll have the kids and white picket fence he's always dreamed of! |
| I love Michael Scott. Actually I love all of the characters. I feel like this will really change the dynamic. This is sad. I hope they don't try to replace him. I vote for Dwight Schrute! |
