I recently started drinking Ensure meal replacement drinks because I don’t eat well at all, and I have a hard time keeping weight on because of it. How ever they can be costly if you don’t buy them on sale. Boost also isn’t all that cheap at $11 something or more for six bottles if you also don’t buy them on sale. I found them on sale last week for only $7.99 when the Ensure drinks weren’t and decided to give them a try. The Boost Plus Calories is a meal replacement drink that is designed to help you maintain a healthy weight. It’s available in Chocolate, Vanilla and in Strawberry flavours and you can buy different formats such as plus calories like I bought, diabetic, high protein, meal replacement, Boost pudding and even a fruit flavoured beverage. One 237ml bottle of Boost Plus Calories gives you 360 calories, it contains calcium witch all woman need more of in their diet, vitamin D to help keep bones strong, 14g of muscle-building protein and a total of 28 essential vitamins and minerals. I think it tastes just as good as Ensure but it’s not quit as sweet as the ensure drinks witch is fine by me. If you are looking to add a little something extra to your diet to help you to maintain your weight, then try Boost plus calories, but make sure to always as your doctor if any of the Boost drinks are right for before you start. I’m going to continue to buy and drink Boost Plus Calories when its on sale and go back to the Ensure drinks when they're on sale. They both give me that little something extra that my diet so badly needs. -

We bought our Whirlpool gas dryer the same day we bought our Whirlpool washer. They were being sold as a set, but the dryer they were showing us was hydro and we preferred to use gas. So we had to special order it and wait a week for the dryer to come in. The set we were shown was white with gray around the controls and we were told the gas dryer would still look the same. How ever when we did finally get both home only the washer has the gray color around the controls and the dryer is all white. I wasn’t to happy about this because I wanted them to match and I also really want my new set to be all black to match the rest of my appliances. Unfortunately this set only came in white, so I have to live with it. This dryer is called a smart dryer because it as an Auto-Dry option that will sense when your clothing is dry and turn off on its own witch is supposed to save energy and money. Its drum is 7.0 cu ft so it can hold a king size comforter with room to spare and there’s a light inside of the dryer so you can see inside of it clearly even if your dryer is in a dark basement. I love this because I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been doing my folding only to find out I’m missing a sock. It also has thirteen automatic cycles and four temperature settings that give you better control over your drying. The wrinkle shield option helps prevent your clothing from wrinkling after the load has finished because it will start back up on its own five minutes after your set time has finished. This saves you from all that ironing, or at least some of it. You can set the timer for as long as seventy minutes to as low as thirty minutes, you can have it just dry your load to a damp dry, or to a heavy dry. The fluff cycle has no heat just air and can be set from as long as thirty minutes down to only ten minutes. This Whirlpool gas dryer has an energy preferred cycle witch is also supposed to save you money. If you happen to have someone working the night shift it also gives you the option of leaving the end of cycle signal turned off. I really like this because I have my dry on the main floor and I don’t have to worry about waking anyone when the dryer is done. One thing that I don’t like about my new dryer is that when I use the energy preferred cycle it will turn off and restart several times before it will completely turn off. So if I don’t feel like getting up to fold the load when it turns off the first time I have to listen to it starting and stopping over an over again. Other then that and it only having a one year warranty, I love my Whirlpool Gas Dryer and would recommend it to anyone that’s looking to buy a new gas dryer. -

We bought our new Whirlpool washer around the first of Dec 2012, but I waited until now to review it because I wanted to really give it a work out before hand. This washer is Energy Star qualified and has a CEE Tier 3 rating. For those that may not know, CEE stands for Consortium for Energy Efficiency and there are three Tiers that can be applied to appliances. It should be noted that the CEE should not be ignored when purchasing any appliances because this provides further details of energy efficiency and that adds up to savings for you. When looking for a new appliance this also gives you the best electricity and water efficiency guide lines when looking at the CEE Tier witch are rated from one to three, three being the best witch this washer is. That all being said I wasn’t sure if I’d see a difference in my hydro and water bills or not witch is another reason why I waited to do this review. It has bin a few months since we bought our Whirlpool washer. I do at least two to four loads of wash a day and I have definitely seen a decrease in both my hydro and water bills. This washer has an H2low system that automatically senses the size of each load so it uses less water and when you use the EcoBoost option your over all energy use is decreased even more. The EcoBoost option helps by increasing the spin speed witch reduces the water temp. They say it’s quiet, how ever if your laundry room is on the main floor like mine is it sure doesn’t seem all that quiet to me. In fact it reminds me of my bread maker when it’s on the mixing cycle. This washer doesn’t have an agitator giving it a 4.1 capacity and it has a specially designed plate at the bottom of the wash basket to give you more washing capacity for better fabric care. I really like this because my king size comforter fits in it and there’s even room for more if I felt like adding more. The drum is also stainless steel so I have no worry about it rusting over time. It has 12 different wash cycles allowing me to wash loads from light and delicate, heavy and bully, soak to super wash and it even has a cycle to clean the washer with Affresh. How ever there are a few things that I am not thrilled with. Do to the fact that it does not have an agitator there is no place to put the fabric softener. It does have a place for bleach, just not for the fabric softener. I did come with one of those Downy balls, but I hate it. You have to look through ever peace of laundry for the ball before you can add your wash to the dryer. Most times the lid to the ball comes off witch means you have to search for both the ball and the balls lid wasting your time and sometimes the ball will fill up with water, or the fabric softener doesn’t all come out of it. If by chance your load does go off balance you can’t just open the lid straighten the load out and restart the machine. It has a locking lid that you have to push a button to stop the washer and unlock it. Then you have to push the button to restart it. How ever when the washer restarts it doesn’t restart where it left off, it goes back to the beginning and starts the whole wash cycle all over again. This ends up wasting water hydro and of coarse your time! My husband also has a very dirty job and sometimes comes home cover in black grease. I found out after we bought this wash that they do not recommend you wash items that are like this in this washer witch is one more thing I wasn’t happy with. The last thing I wasn’t too happy about is the fact that it only came with a one year warranty. The guy that sold it to us told us we were better off buying the extended warranty because it most likely wouldn’t last much longer then the one year it was covered for do to the fact that everything is made so cheaply now a days. I was very surprised when he came right out with this, but I tended to believe him so we paid for the extended warranty even though I didn’t want to. Other then those few things I’m pretty happy with how well my new Whirlpool washer has bin cleaning our laundry and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new washer, as long as your not planning on washing clothing that are covered in grease. -

I’m not a big perfume wearer, but when my husband brought me home some Forbidden Euphoria perfume I fell in love with the scent. Calvin Klein launched their Forbidden Euphoria perfume in 2005 and it has been a big hit ever since. Forbidden Euphoria is an exotic floral-fruity fragrance that I love. With notes of rose hip, Japanese apple, green leaves, Lotus, black orchid, red woods, black violet and amber. It reminds me of an exotic flower garden after a light spring rain, fresh and full of wonderful scents! The best way to wear any perfume is to give yourself a few light sprays, or dabs behind your ear’s, behind your knees and elbows and perhaps on your wrists before you get dressed. This way you won’t be taking any chances of staining your clothing and you won’t over do it. I think the worst thing any woman or even a man can do is apply to much of any scent. No matter witch scent you love if you apply to much it won’t be appealing to anyone. You want to be notice when you walk into a room, not your perfume. I can't stand it when someone’s perfume, or colon walks into a room ahead of the person wearing it and that’s all you smell for the rest of the time their there and long after they have left. Calvin Klein Forbidden Euphoria is available this week at the Beauty encounter web site for $56 in a 3.4 spray bottle and regularly sells for $80. So if your interested in giving it a try now is a good time to pick some up. -

I was sent a coupon for a free Happy Planet soup to try. I hadn’t heard of it before this and wasn’t even sure where to buy it. It took me a few weeks, but I finally found it at one of the Metro store's where I live. This isn’t a can soup, or even a box soup that you would add water to. It’s in a bag already mixed up and ready to be heated and enjoyed. It’s also not in the soup section, its sold in the refrigerator Deli section and it’s only available in a few flavours at the different store’s that do sell it. So depending on what you like and don’t like you may have a hard time finding the right one for you. Costco does carry it, but they wouldn’t take my coupon. The Real Canadian Supper store also carries it, but they only carried the Coconut flavour and that just wasn’t for me. Metro how ever carries three flavours, the Tuscan Tomato that I picked up, Berkeley Butternut Squash and Summerset Garden Pea soup. It is also available in five other flavours, if you are able to find them. All their soups are sold in a 650ml re-sealable bag, but they also make a Chilli that is available in a 500ml re-sealable bag. When I opened the bag of Tuscan Tomato soup the first thing that hit me was how strong the garlic scent was. It looked like someone ran fresh tomatoes through a blender until they were smooth and then just added a bunch of garlic and other spices to it. The ingredients say they use all organic ingredients, so I think those that prefer organic products would enjoy this soup. How ever if you like a thinker soup this wouldn’t be for you. It’s very watery and like I said it has a very strong spice scent and taste to it. My family and I don’t care for anything spicy so I really didn’t think we were going to like this soup and I was right. It just wasn’t for us taste wise, or price wise. They want way too much money for a soup that can only feed two people one helping. But I’m sure others would enjoy it. -

I had bin wanting to try Sally Hansen’s Magnetic Nail Color for some time now, but I just couldn’t justify spending $10 on a nail polish that I didn’t even know if I’d like. So when I saw it on sale for only $5.97 I broke down I bought some in the Polar Purple shade. They say on their web site that it allows you to give yourself a 3-D Nail Art look in just seconds. Well that may be true for those with steady hands, or pros, but it wasn’t for me. This polish is infused with metallic particles that will move when exposed to the specially designed magnet that comes with the polish. You first give your nails a few coats of the polish. Then polish one nail at a time and place the magnet as close to your cuticle as you can get it and wait about 25 seconds. Lift the magnet and you should have a lighter color design running through the polish. Then you just repeat the process with each nail. This does take some time to do and it many sound easy enough, but it can get tricky. I’ve had the magnet touch my wet nails and had to start over again just about every time I’ve tried this. I used nail polish remover to get the polish off of the magnet because I didn’t know what else to do to clean it off. Ever since I did this the magnet hasn’t worked for me. So if you do buy this polish be very careful not to get polish on the magnet, or you’ll end up with just another polish that can’t do what it’s meant to do. I wasn’t thrilled with the Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color for a few reasons. The price is crazy, the polish its self isn’t very good and doesn’t go on nicely at all and like I said if you do happen to get polish on the magnet and try to take it off it won’t work any longer. If you were to leave any polish you might get on the magnet it also won’t give you the same effect. As far as I’m concerned the Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color isn’t worth the $5.97 I paid for or the $10 something that it usually sells for! -

I received my Jouviance Rejuvenating Anti-Aging cream in one of my Glossy Boxes I got a few months ago. It’s available in two formats, an airless pump with measured dosing and a jar, 50ml sells for $93.50 on their web site. So it sure isn’t a product that I’d ever consider buying for myself, no matter what the results where. That is unless I won the lottery.LOL They claim it will reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkle, increase elasticity, firmness of your skin, improve skin’s hydration and that it complements and prolongs the benefits of cosmetic treatments such as Botox, Restylane and common laser treatments. This also is available in two formulations that is adapted to skin type and season. One for normal to dry skin witch they say is ideal for sensitive skin and one for combination to oily witch is ideal for intolerant, or acne prone skin. I only had a small tube to try, but even with me using it morning and before bed it lasted me quit a long time. You only need a small amount as it spreads very nicely and absorbs into your skin fast. It left the skin around my eye’s feeling very soft and it made them look young and healthy again. How ever once I was done with the small tube I was given my eyes went back to the way they were before I started using it. So this is a product that you would have to continually use to see and keep the great results. I’d defiantly buy it on my own if it wasn’t so pricey. -

I picked up my new CoverGirl Clump Crusher mascara a few weeks ago and have kinda bin on the fence about it. It has a curved brush that I really like and I’ve missed since my other CoverGirl mascara only came with a straight brush. I find that the curved brush gives me more control and lets me get to those little lashes that are hiding in the corners. It does give me great length and control, but I found myself having to wipe the tip of the applicator brush off every time I pulled it out of the mascara. It was coming out with a big clump of mascara on the tip of the brush. This isn’t happening every time I pull it out, but it is a bit of a pain. Other then that I really like the CoveGirl Clump Crusher Mascara. I have great control over where I place the applicator brush, I don’t need to keep going over my lashes to get the length I want to achieve, its doesn’t flake off and stays right where I put it until I take it off. I feel the new CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara is a great buy for the price and would recommend it even though I have had to occasionally wipe the tip off. -

I was sent a box of Merci chocolates to try from the Brand Power web site. These chocolates really surprised me. I don’t care for dark chocolate, but I enjoyed even the flavours that are made with the dark chocolate. Merci chocolates are made in Germany and are available in seven varieties of the finest rich European chocolate. A box has twenty individually wrapped peaces and they have 0 grams of trans fat! Varieties include Milk Chocolate-solid chocolate witch is very smooth and creamy, Coffee and Cream witch has a dark chocolate top flavoured with coffee with a base of white chocolate. When the two melt together in your mouth it’s heavenly! The Hazelnut-Almond has just the right amount of hazelnuts and almonds mixed with smooth milk chocolate. Hazelnut-Cream is also made with milk chocolate and is filled with creamy hazelnut cream. Dark Creams are all dark chocolate, but are very smooth and don’t have that sharp dark chocolate bit that most dark chocolate has. Dark-Mousse has a chocolate mousse wrapped in dark chocolate that also doesn’t have that sharp bite to it and finally they have Praline-Cream witch is a luscious milk chocolate with a smooth chocolate praline center, YUMM! I’m not sure where you can by them in Canada, but they are available in a 8.8 oz box at Walgreens for about $5.99. If you haven’t tried Merci Chocolates and you love chocolate then you really should try Merci Chocolates, they are one of the best chocolates I’ve ever eaten. -

I joined the Ensure club at this web site, https://ensure.ca/en/ensure_club/ and was sent three regular Ensure drinks to try. They sent me one of each flavour, Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry, plus they sent me two coupons worth $4 each off of my next purchases of Ensure. As the coupons are used, they send you out more up to $50 off of your purchases. You can also get information for meal planning, recipes and much more. Ensure normally sells any where from $11.99 to $7.99 on sale and it comes in six 237ml bottle packs. I have mentioned before that I have very bad bones and other health problems. I also don’t eat right at all, so I thought this just might help me out a bit. The Strawberry and Vanilla flavours are very good and surprisingly sweet. I was really surprised at how sweet they were because I always thought any thing that is supposed to be good for me would taste awful. They do say if it is to sweet for you that you can dilute it with some whole milk, or add a dash of salt. I haven’t tried the Chocolate one yet because I’m not big on chocolate milk and I think it will taste a lot like that, but the Strawberry and Vanilla are delicious! Ensure is simply a drink that is made up of vitamins and minerals that you drink each day to help you to maintain a healthy diet. Ensure is so balanced that it can be used as a meal replacement or just as a added healthy boost to your diet that maybe lacking in some way for one reason, or another. Ensure is available in regular, high protein, fibre, plus calories, scFOS and even in a pudding forum. Each one is made up to help you with all kinds of different diet needs, such as maintaining weight, gaining weight, adding fibre, to help increase calcium and much more. If you feel your diet maybe lacking in some way, or you might be having surgery soon, Ensure is a great way to give your body what it needs with out having to weigh and measure out food. I love the taste of Ensure and all of the healthy benefits that comes with drinking it. If you feel like your diet may need a boost then I highly recommend you also join the Ensure club. You'll feel better and you’ll save a bit of money along the way. -
