Flat Abs Exercises
Many of us are a little shy about our mid sections, whether you've recently had a baby like me or genetics and/or donuts are to blame.  Doing 100 crunches every night before bed is both boring and unlikely so my hero, Trainer George put together 5 super exercises you can do at home to tighten those abs.

Abdominal Backstroke
Exercises for Flat Abs
Sitting on a mat in a reclined position, with the feet on the floor and hands rested to the side of the knees, circle one arm at a time in a backward motion.   Do 3 sets of 20 per side.

Targets:  Abs, core, obliques

Level: Advanced

Side Iso Abs with Crunch
Exercises for Flat Abs
Lying on your side with your body supported with your elbow, rotate your upper body towards the floor and then return to the starting position.  Do 3 sets of 12 per side.

Targets: Abs, Core, Obliques, shoulder, total body

Level: Intermediate

Crunch – Leg Lifts
Exercises for Flat Abs
Lying on your back on the floor, raise one leg vertically in the air.  Perform continuous scissor motion with your legs.  Do 3 sets of 15.

Targets: Abs, Core, Glutes, Hip Flexor, legs, Obliques

Level: Intermediate

Crunch Supine Jack Knife
Exercises for Flat Abs
Lie on your back with arms over head.  Simultaneously raise your arms and legs vertically to meet and then lower arms and legs to starting position.  Do 3 sets of 12.

Targets: Abdominals, Core, Hip Flexors

Level: Advanced

Supine Triple Flexion to Extension
Exercises for Flat Abs
Lying on the floor with your back, bend your knees to 90 degrees.  Extend one leg forward parallel to the floor, change and perform with the other leg.  Note: It's like bicycles, without the upper body moving.  Do 3 sets of 20.

Targets: Abdominals, core, hip flexors

Level: Advanced

HaHa @ mamaluv ~ I feel exactly the same way, I recently step up my workout & started back on P90X after being inspired by ALi. For the last week, I've barely been able to move. I look like the mother of frankenstein but it seem to give my kids great pleasure lol. All I can say is I am looking forward to Sat. when I intend to premier the Jargarita. Thanks Ali, for the push.

@sirenstarlight I have problems with my neck too! These didn't hurt mine at all. George is always careful to only give me exercises my neck can handle. The toughest is the crunch jack knife. You have to be careful with that one.

I'm both terrified and inspired all at the same time!

Nice! Thanks!
Abs are one of those things that I occasionally try to work on but always give up within days.
Maybe it's time to try again.
I have a bad back/neck/shoulders so strengthening my core is important.
I wouldn't be able to try them all without fear of hurting my neck more but I will be trying the leg lifts and the Supine Triple Flexion to Extension :)
