New York Fashion Week wrapped up last week, and even while we eagerly soaked up the previews from the runways, it's the street style that proves which trends have real staying power.  One mega trend we saw carry over from last season is Fur.  Though controversial, it's a look that keeps cropping up - as seen on these New York City fashionistas.

Juliet is a Parisian designer sporting her own designs (minus the Hermes bag and boots). She sticks to a simple black and white palette with a black fur vest over leather, then ties the whole outfit together with a Russian-inspired black and white fur hat.

Liz looks elegant in her ensemble of neutral tone capris and artistic patterned silk top. A statement ring provides a pop of colour and tops it all with her off-white fur coat.

Mary sports neutral pieces under her cozy coat and spices things up with these daring leopard print booties.  Love the outfit but not the ciggie, hmm?

Claire looks chic in her gray tweed skirt and black silk blouse with a punch of colour from her cranberry leather bag. We're loving her little bowtie - you?

Tanya starts with basics which play up her punchy accessories - simple fedora, layered necklaces, and deep blue silk scarf (our favourite piece).

We even spotted our favourite Victoria's Secret Angel Karolina Kurkova schmoozing in a fur-trimmed coat with a sweet little dog.

Like it or not, fur is one trend that seems determined to stick.  Thankfully, plenty of designers are working with faux furs to make the style more universally wearable.
