Lemon Square Recipe

Wednesday February 29, 2012 by Alexandra C.

Like our Brazilian lemonade, lemon squares are typically a dessert that you might find at a summer picnic, not in the middle of winter. However, like the old saying goes, 'you are what you eat' so you might as well eat sunny, cheery delicious desserts, right?

Lemon squares are probably one of my favourite desserts because they are so light, tart and sweet; but dangerously so, because...

DIY Drinks: Brazilian Lemonade Recipe

Wednesday February 22, 2012 by Alexandra C.

So, I know that lemonade is typically a summertime drink, but in the middle of winter, after the holidays have long passed and all your left with some grey weather, a bit some Brazilian lemonade is exactly what the doctor ordered! This very refreshing, tart and tasty beverage is the perfect antidote to a dull day and it's so lip-smackingly delicious you'll be craving more! The...

Honey Wheat Sunflower Bread Recipe

Tuesday February 21, 2012 by Claire

Like most people, I was once intimidated by the thought of making my own bread.  It's a lengthy process and (presumably) easy to flub, but I come from a long line of German women who make fantastic brrrrread from scratch all the time (and yes, it's important to roll the "r" or it doesn't count) so defeat is not an option.

This Christmas I received a stand mixer with a dough hook...

DIY Red Velvet Latte Recipe

Thursday February 16, 2012 by Alexandra C.

Valentine's Day may be over, but I think there's still a little bit of love in the air. Sidenote: If you're also feeling the love, you may want to head on over to our Share the Love contest before it closes!

Now, back to business; because I'm still feeling all warm and gooey from all those delicious desserts I've been eating this Valentine's, I asked our local coffee...

Easy Apple Crumble Recipe

Easy Apple Crumble Recipe
(or at least, this is supposed to be easy to make if you don't get carried away with the flour and cinnamon.)

This apple crumble dessert is silly good and makes your house smell absolutely delicious.  Here's what you need:

Ingredients
6-8 Apples
2 cups Oatmeal
1/4 cup Flour
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Maple Syrup (only the real stuff please!)
3/4 cup Butter, softened
1/2 cup raw or...

We Love Fridays: Cocktails Edition - The Super Bowl Sunday Caesar

Friday February 3, 2012 by Alexandra C.

I'm not really a sports person, but I am a total advocate of big sporting events like the Stanley Cup or in the case this weekend, the Super Bowl. The great thing about these games is that everyone's just there to chill, have a good time, eat some fried foods and of course, have a few cocktails!

If more sports included drinks, I could become a serious sports fan.

We...

Easy DIY Valentine's Gift Idea: Chocolate Dipped Pretzel Rods

Tuesday January 31, 2012 by Claire

Helping your kids come up with a fun Valentine's gift that doesn't involve a cheesy mug is hard.  So instead, we roll with it by filling those mugs with delicious and infinitely adaptable chocolate-dipped pretzel rods.

Because if there's anything better than a mug of coffee with chocolatey pretzels on the side, well... I seriously doubt it.

Ingredients

Pretzel Rods
Chocolate chips...

Bite Size Banana Split Recipe

Friday January 27, 2012 by Alexandra C.

What if you had a banana split that you could put into your mouth all at once? It would be pretty great, right? After spotting a picture of a mini banana split online, I couldn't get them out of my mind.

While these would be perfect for a child's birthday or slumber party, I don't see why grownups can't get in on the fun.  Pair with a pudding shot, perhaps?

Wednesday January 4, 2012 by Alexandra C.

Cake pops have officially taken the baking world by storm and it's easy to see why. They are adorable, bite sized and when it comes to decorating them, the possibilities are endless!

The actual cake pops are easy to make and only require a few ingredients and directions- this video from Starbucks (who provided a cake pop kit for us) explains it easily.

The best part of making cake pops...
