One of our fav blogs to pop in on, iwantigot, featured an article about Valentino's upcoming retirement. We think this is sad news.

Valentino, the man behind some of the most beautiful dresses in the world and incidentally, our favorite perfume, is retiring after 45 years in the biz. The 75 year old will retire in January 2008. Former Gucci designer Alessandra Facchinetti will be his successor.

Some sad news about Liz Claiborne, a women's wear icon and entrepreneur. Today she passed away at the age of 78 from cancer.

Aside from her contributions to fashion, she was also the first woman to have a company listed in the Fortune 500, with Claiborne Inc in 1985.
