Shamrocks, leprechauns and Irish blessings - we love St Paddy's Day! It has become synonymous with drinking beer and wearing green but where did this holiday get its origin?

It started with St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, who according to legend banished snakes from Ireland by standing on a hillside and hitting the ground with his staff. Truth be told the Emerald Isle was never the...

Some films have such beautiful and haunting soundtracks you may find yourself tempted to illegally downl buy them so you can relive the moments over and over in your mind or at least turn up the volume and pretend your life is a movie and this is your sound track. It's perfect as accompanying music when you want to bawl and feel sorry for yourself.

Now the trouble is, there are so many amazing...

This is one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. Really genuinely funny, not stupid funny. Jason Segal wrote and stars in it, which I didn't realize until the credits. Love it! Also starring Kristen Bell and Mila Kunis. I watched all of the special features too. It was just that good.

Another hit from Guillermo del Toro, the brilliant director behind Pan's Labyrinth. The Orphanage (El Orfanato) will chill you to the bone. It is in Spanish with subtitles but the cinematography and acting are so well done you won't feel burdened by them. I saw it a couple of weeks ago and am still freaked out by it. Perfect for Halloween!

Normally we recommend something you can rent and watch at home, but The Dark Knight is just too good not to experience in theaters. Health Ledger is phenomenal. He's so good, it's therapeutic. It will make you cry that we lost him all over again. I would buy anything Aaron Eckhart is selling and I still want to be best friends with Maggie Gyllenhaal. Christian Bale is the Hotness. He's...

La Vie en Rose is simply one of the best movies of 2008. Following the story of famous French singer Edith Piaf, it is so beautifully acted and the soundtrack so haunting you may find yourself downloading it on iTunes. Marion Coutillard is phenomenal in this role and it is no surprise she won an Oscar for it. This is a must rent this weekend.

It's a beautiful long weekend here in Canada but in case you'd rather cuddle up with a movie and a bowl of popcorn Definitely, Maybe is really kinda cute.

After being served divorce papers, Will spends a weekend with his young daughter who begs him to share the story of how he met her mother, hoping the memories will bring them back together. Abigail Breslin is fantastic as the smart...
