5 New Beauty Products To Treat Yourself To This Week

Posted by Alexandra C. | Tuesday January 8, 201311 comments

Being an adult is hard. Like, super hard you guys. For realsies. So sometimes, it becomes necessary to #treatyoself. If you aren't already familiar with this concept, it's the idea that once in a while, you just need to throw caution to the wind and indulge yourself in some gratuitously unnecessary (but, I mean like, totally necessary) items. For reference, watch this.

For your #treatyoself haul this week, I have 5 products that I'm giving my stamp of approval to. Of course, for your wallet's sake, I kept them all at affordable prices because you're definitely going to be picking up more than one of these.

1. Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede (C$10.97): Colour marries hydration with this line of semi matte lipsticks.

2. Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Trio Universal Looks Collection (US$11.95): Dramatic kohl liner is not for the faint of heart, but for lining or smudging, this trio has everything you need for a natural, flirty look.

3. CoverGirl Clump Crusher by LashBlast (C$10.99): This mascara is fast becoming a fan fave because of the thick, voluminous lashes it gives.

4. Sally Hansen Salon Insta Gel Strips (US$13.99): If nail polish strips and gel polish had a baby, this would be that baby. Two week wear is promised with this chip free polish in amazing colours and patterns.

5. Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipcolor (C$9.99): Inject some brightness into a dreary winter wardrobe with these vivid colours.

Will you be picking any of these up? Or if you already have, what's your take on them?

@Takoda, technically you're supposed to chuck your mascara after 3 months because of the bacteria that can grow in it. However, (naughty naughty) I've kept mine for even 6 months and I've been fine. That's me though.

A good way to test - check to see if the smell changed. If so, time for a new one!

Maybelline Colour sensational... got it! Love it. Bought it in the bright orange and I couldn't be happier with it.

Right now, pretty much every beauty line and hair line is introducing new products or redesigning the old ones. I am excited to try the new stuff.

The Insta-Gel intrigues me, I'll have to see if I can pick up a box of it.

Yes I keep seeing commercials for the Clump Crusher! Just bought a new mascara though so I can't justify buying a new one so soon. Will wait until I hear some CA reviews!

And I was looking at the Maybelline Vivid lipsticks at the store, they looked a little too much for me during the winter, but come summer i'll probably pick up one or two! The shades were very nice but VERY neon.

I really want to try out the CoverGirl Clump Crusher mascara. The commercial looks great! The other one that intrigues me is the Revlon Ultimate Suede lipsticks.. Might had to hit the shops!

I'm really thinking about picking up the CoverGirl Clump Crusher.
Question for who ever would like to answer. How long do you keep your mascara and when is it best to toss out. I usually only put makeup on once a week, so my products last me a long time. I hate tossing out half full products, but I also don't care to get an eye infection!
