Cute Workout Gear to Start the New Year

Posted by Alexandra C. | Thursday January 3, 20137 comments

New years resolution time is here and I'm going to bet that at the top of many of our lists is 'exercise'. I know it's at the top of mine. Only problem is, I hate running (and by default, all forms of exercise). I fear that this will most likely never change. So my only course of action is to really try and come up with new ways of motivating myself.

It takes a lot to get me going. I need my music, a post workout smoothie (or two), and most importantly, cute gear. Nothing gets me going faster than knowing I'm going to be stylin' as I run (or, more likely, walk) on the treadmill. I mean, if I'm going to be all sweaty and stuff, I'm going to be sweaty in some adorable clothes.

Here's what I'm checking out for my new year workout haul:

1. Adidas Stella McCartney Run Seven-Eighths Tights (C$77.00)

2. New Balance 1010 Minimus Trail (C$109.99)

3. VSX Sport Training Tee (US$29.50)

4. Puma Move Sweat Jacket (C$32.00, on sale)

5. Reebok Women's VersaCool Train Tee (C$35.00)

Good music, yummy rewards or cute clothes: What do you use to motivate you at the gym?

I've been running since I was 7 years old, so i have pass the stage of just wearing anything. Over the years, i accumulated many sizes and many uniforms. I have reach the point of almost tempted to stop exercising. But I can't. So, I shop for whatever inspires me. Cute gear, good music, a good water bottle...tops the list.

Actually, these colored/neon brights inspires me. If I'm gonna be caught passing out before the marathon finish line, I better be seen.

Love the yellow VSK training tee.
The Nike runners - I have one in pink, unfortunately I am a supinator, so I have to stick to anything with good cushion like the Nike Pegasus, Asics Nimbus. The New Balance for Trail Running looks good paired with the VSK tee, for sure...even the squirrels will notice me in the woods.

My capris are mostly Adidas, got them discounted and it fits well, so I stick to them.
Since getting my Zumba Instructor license, I get super good discounts that I also stock myself with awesome Zumba wear. If I am bummed out and don't want to go to gym, I do an hour Zumba at least.
Thanks for showing these, I would check out the yellow top for sure. That one, I don't have yet.

I just wear whatever old clothes I have to workout in. Or a cheap tank top and shorts/jogging pants. My new years resolutions include saving money, so spending a whole bunch on "cute" workout clothes would not be a good idea.

I'm not much into "work out styles", so the more basic (and comfy) attire the better - for me.

Not a big fan of all the bright coloured runners either, i'll stick with my white/grey ones. My daughters have some pretty cute pink/blue ones, but i'll take my classics anyday.

I have grey/teal Nike runners, and I love them! They're mostly grey and just have a pop of colour, so they don't stand out if I have to wear them with jeans, and they're super cute and comfy too. Some of the neon colours are a bit obnoxious, but I find them more fun than plain white runners. I do however need to up my workout gear, I just go in shorts and a baggy t-shirt.

I like some of these out fits, but I'm with fredamans on the running shoes. I'm not into all these colors either and can't seem to find some the are a basic color, just for walking around in. Or when I do find some they want a small house payment for them!

What ever happened to a basic white sneaker??? I'm so not into a colored sneaker and am quickly becoming frustrated.
