I haven't had any problems with this monitor. It doesn't have any static. I can hear every little sound that comes from my baby's room. It was a great deal. For a simple basic baby monitor I recommend this one to my family and friends it very good.
This is great because you don't need to buy special diaper pail bags, you just use your regular garbage bags. It did a great job of containing smell, too!
