Great product

I liked the Blue Lizard sunscreen because it feels protective and reliable, but the cream is a bit too thick for my taste. I could really feel it sitting on my skin, and I usually prefer lighter products that sink in quickly. If you don’t mind a heavier texture, it’s still a solid sunscreen option.

When I first applied the Blue Lizard Mineral Sunscreen, I definitely noticed a sheen on my skin — but it didn't bother me. I happen to prefer a dewy, glowy finish to a matte one, especially since my skin is on the dry side. If your skin is oily, though, you may want to skip using this one on your face.

The sunscreen felt pretty thick when I first squirted some onto my skin, but I will say it blends pretty easily and didn't feel too heavy once I rubbed it in. Within about 15 minutes or so, my skin had mostly absorbed the product, so that shiny finish mostly diminished. There was definitely a white cast on my face at first, but once I rubbed the product in more thoroughly, that was no longer noticeable. A little of this product goes a long way, so the best way to avoid that white cast is to use just enough to cover your skin and blend it super well. I will say, though, that my skin is super fair — I'm not sure whether or not the white cast might be more visible on darker skin tones.

Works GREAT and last long!

Goes really well with combination skin, light weight, non-greasy and matt finish. But if you mind white cast I do not recommand this product. I think the sheer version blue lizard is good too.

I like it but not for me

The provided sunscreen offers commendable protection against the sun's harmful rays, which is a significant benefit. However, its thickness presents a challenge for those who wear makeup regularly. Although the sunscreen is effective, it unfortunately doesn't blend well with other cosmetic products. This limitation makes it difficult to integrate into a daily beauty routine seamlessly. Hopefully, future formulations will address this issue to make it more versatile.

Good for Sensitive Skin, Needs Cleaner Ingredients

I really wanted to love this sunscreen. And in many ways, I do. It’s effective, gentle on sensitive skin, and doesn’t leave a heavy white cast like many mineral sunscreens. The texture is great, and it blends in well without irritation. However, I was disappointed to see ingredients like alumina and chlorphenesin included in the formula. These are flagged by many as potential carcinogens or allergens, and in 2025, I believe we should be holding skincare brands, especially those marketed as "sensitive" and "safe" to higher standards of clean, truly non-toxic ingredients. Everything else about this product is amazing, but I can't confidently use or recommend it while these ingredients remain. Clean, effective skincare is possible, and it's time more companies commit to that fully.

Protects skin but a bit thick

When I used the Blue Lizard sunscreen, I did feel that my skin was protected from the sun. My skin did not have any bad reaction. I also had my sons apply it when they were playing outside and it seemed to have done its job. However, note that the sunscreen is a bit thick and even after 10 minutes of applying it, it was still noticeable in our skin. Although we've only used it outside so far, we're excited to take it to our next beach trip as it is known to be reef-safe.

Thick and sticky but works

This product worked well at preventing sunburn and I had no reaction or irritations so it’s great for sensitive skin. However I would not use this again as it went on too thick and stayed white and sticky.

A little disappointed

I really liked the kids one and hoped the sensitive skin would be just as good, but when applied to my face it would flake. It does rub in well and has little to no scent but is not as creamy as the kids version. I do really like the indicator cap though. Overall I'm a little disappointed that it flakes and sort of crumbles when applied to certain areas.

Heavy white cast and unpleasant smell

I really wanted to like this product but I couldn't get past the heavy white cast it left and the unpleasant smell. Even after rubbing the sunscreen into my skin and letting it dry it still left a heavy white cast

It also had an unpleasant odor that did not go away.

I did really appreciate that it didn't irritate my skin or sting my eyes even when sweating heavily.

Just a Dab!

You definitely only need a dab of this as it takes a while to absorb and covers a lot of area. I did feel my skin was protected and it lasts. There is no scent, (not even the weird one that comes with a lot of “unscented” products) which is great if that’s what you like. Overall it’s not bad, I just didn’t like that it takes so long and so much effort to absorb.
