Wow what a difference
Ok I just got this for Christmas and its a love hate relationship with this thing haha. I first tried it on dry skin, so I didnt have a bath before, I found it hurt like waxing. Eventually your skin gets use to it. I did one leg like that then I stopped. I decided to have a bath to soak my skin and open my pores, I did that and got out dried my skin and used the Epilator. Man did that ever make a difference... don't get me wrong it still hurt but not as bad.
So I recommend soaking your skin first then dry it and use the epilator right away. Also you do have to exfoliate otherwise you will get ingrown hairs.
I recommend watching youtube videos on how to do this, because it really helped with me.
Remember it will hurt the first few times because its pretty much a bunch of tweezers pulling out your hair. After a while it stops hurting and the root of your hair becomes smaller.
It feels like you are cutting yourself.
I was using the epilator in the shower to remove hair on my legs. It felt like it was cutting my skin, so i stopped and looked down, but it had not. Which was good that it did not cut, but when i felt my leg it had gotten almost no hair so it was absolutely useless and painful.
no more hair
I use my Braun silk Epil epiliator at least once a month. It is quick and easy and leaves my legs virtually hairless. If you use it for an extended period, less hair grows and so the job becomes much easier.
I'm pretty sure this was created as a torture device by some person who probably should have been born during the Spanish Inquisition. Why is this a thing?! I don't like shaving but this is insane! Waxing doesnt even feel this awful! And it really didn't do anything but pull my hair, not remove it as its supposed to!
I received this from Braun free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion so I was game. I have horribly coarse hair thats a pain to shave so anything that makes my life easier sounds great...how wrong I was. This sparkly little plastic evil is the last thing I want to use again. I keep it around though. My guy sleeps pretty soundly and its a great thing to pull out of the drawer when hes being a jerk. One look at that thing and hes on the way to the store to buy me flowers. :p
Before I had my son (when I had time) I exclusively epilated my body hair. I love epilating because t is cost efficient. You aren't wasting or throwing anything into the garbage. You are only making one expense. The hair also grows back a lot later! But what I really love about epilating is I don't have to wait for my hair to grow out a little longer like you would have to for waxing. I loved that I was always able to have smooth skin.
The only down side to epilating is that it is time consuming. It would take a little longer to epilate than waxing or shaving. If you do have time, I would highly recommend it.
Totally not worth it
A lot of ingrowns
Hair grows faster and thicker and it's really expensive!
I don't like it and I regret buying it.
My hair is worst than ever
The automatic light on this epilator really helps to identify where you might have lighter strands that tend to camouflage in a dim bathroom. The carry pouch is cute, the brush works well for cleaning, and the ice pack was a nice touch - though I don't use it. I like to epilate to remove outliers from waxing, and it is the only form of hair removal I use on my armpits. Make sure to pull your skin taut and take an Advil 20 mins before if you're prone to pain and redness. I love how this has two speeds, and it comes apart for relatively easy cleaning. I do see the benefits of a cordless device, because it would be a lot less messy to epilate in the shower. The pink wheelie picks are a useful feature to help decrease pain.
Let me start off by saying, I love this thing. I've tried sooo many hair removal things before but this is exceptional. Waxing however, really is the better or best way to remove hair but this is a follower. This is a more affordable alternative option. I know, it is super pricey etcc but it's worth it and you dont have to rep-buy it like every month.
Overall not at all in comparison to a razor, nope, not even cuz of the cost.
This is my first time using an epilator. I love it so far. It takes some time to remove the hair but its much better than shaving your legs every few days. The skin is smooth, and it doesnt hurt much.
I owned one of these back in the 1990's and these products have sure come a LONG way!! I was expecting to be tortured again as I felt each hair being pulled out. That did not happen. I love the light on it as it helps my middle aged eyes see any hairs that I might have missed. It is just a bit uncomfortable (to be expected as it is ripping your hair out at the root) but definitely not painful at all. I have not shaved my legs since buying this a few months back and after using this weekly for a few months my legs are much, much smoother. It can be used wet/dry but I have not tried it the shower yet. I also have not tried the attachments for face and underarms yet. One note - the slow setting on this is actually pretty fast and the fast setting is turbo mode!
