I love that I can stay connected to family and friends so easily. Unfortunately in todays day and age people have forgotten the written letter and the telephone (actually talking on it). Things are done with texting or email or online. So it is here to stay regardless, and I find it is easy for connecting with people. I like being able to join groups of people who have the same issues or interests as I do. It can definitely be a good thing, but I can also see how it can be something not good, especially with cyber bullying and posting things that should never be posted.
Facebook can definitely suck you into their world. It's a big distraction. Keeping me a bit OCD on it. I have to admit it keeps me in the loop about whatever is going on in the world. I have read a lot about people's deaths or what people's personal comments are. Sometimes it gives me a false sense of who I am or how I should present myself. I wish it would go away.
I have to admit Facebook is a little frustrating. That's my point. It's a digital age and here we are... And I know it's not going away. Wow, I'm glad that Facebook was not around when I was a kid. I'm sure I would an embarrassing moment(s) or two that would haunt me. Some factors are not forgiving esp. with cyber-bulling and trolling. That's something which comes with the new territory of this digital age.
I like it for keeping in contact with freidns around the world. Great way to communicate and see pictures.
But their privacy terms keep getting very loose. Anything you put up online is fair game I understand that but facebook is taking it to a whole new level.
Not my favourite social media
It is good for keeping in contact with friends and family that you have not seen in a long time or are not always seen, but it is easy to get an addiction to it. After a while, it does get a bit boring and I don't use it much anymore.
Facebook has helped me connect to old friends from highschool...we now meet annually about 15 of us and catch up on all our lives! Love it...Also I do not like the phone or letter writing so FB is for me!
I mainly use Facebook to connect with all my family and friends at once. I can upload pictures or videos so that everyone I'm trying to reach can see them instead of emailing, or mailing them out individually. Getting game requests for games you don't play is kind of annoying though.
I like Facebook, as it gives me a chance to connect with family that I don't get to see, and to talk to and to see pictures of family I have never met. I also like that we are able to plan events with friends on it, and invite whom we want. Also, we can keep up with friends that live far away.
I sort think social networks are a bit overrated. If you are using Facebook because of business or family or friends that you don't get to see often, it's not so bad. I don't like the way Facebook works really. I am not really into social networking in general.
