Little bar, big impact!

I was super excited to be sent this shampoo bar to test out from Garnier whole blends collection. I've been curious about them for a while but totally thought I would hate it. I'm glad to admit that I was wrong. This little bar produces great results! It has a creamy lather and has left my hair feeling great. I have thick, dry hair and this particular shampoo bar is made to provide nourishment and protection from damage and breakage. I love that it's made with sustainably sourced honey & beeswax (this is why it smells so great), and is also free from silicone and preservatives!

Garnier Whole Blends shampoo has always been a household favorite of mine, so I was thrilled to try Garnier's new Whole Blends Shampoo Bar! It's 95% plant based and has zero plastic waste. The shampoo bar is super easy to use, just wet your hair and the bar to make foam, lather from roots to tips with the bar in hand, massage, and rinse! All the benefits of the regular Whole Blends line, while being kind to the environment! We could all use a little more kindness in our lives, am I right? Thanks Garnier for passing on the kindness!

Whole Blends Shampoo Bar

The package for the soap is small, square shaped and a great size for packing away if traveling. Another benefit is you don't have to worry about having the shampoo bar in your carry-on bag since it isn't liquid and there are no concerns about spilling, leaking or limits on liquid amounts allowed in bag. The bar of soap itself is shaped to fit conveniently in the palm of your hand and I had no difficulty with the bar slipping from my hand when lathered. The bar wasn't excessively slippery and was not slimey like some soap bars. I was a bit skeptical that the soap would provide sufficient lather to wash my long, very thick hair but once I wet the bar my concerns were gone. The shampoo bar lathered extremely easily and provided more than enough bubbly soap to cover my hair from roots to tips. Very little water was required to get the shampoo bar lathered up. The instructions on the box contained illustrations and words so was very easy to follow. The washing is much like using a regular bar of soap in your hands but you are holding the soap by your hair and lathering into your hair. Washing my hair was quicker and neater than using shampoo in a bottle. I felt I didn't use much of the bar to clean my hair and didn't have to worry about shampoo dripping into the shower/ tub. The smell of the bar was very nice, subtle and not over powering, nor overly sweet or perfumey. In fact I also used it to wash with because of the nice scent lol! It was a very calming, aromatic scent. The compact size makes for easy storage and less counter space being required which is appreciated. Overall a great product!

Smells like decorative soap

I really wanted to love this shampoo but the smell was so strong it turned me off. I maybe could have got over the smell but this shampoo didn't do well with my long thick wavy hair. My hair requires shampoo that gives me lots of moisture and this wasn't it. That being said I would keep one on hand for trips just to avoid the liquid soap but definitely not something I would use on a regular basis.

Beautifully scented surprise!

I didn’t know what to expect since I’ve never tried a shampoo bar, but I’m sold! First of all it smells absolutely amazing. It lathers up so easily and left my hair soft and shiny - I didn’t even need to use conditioner after! I’m going to try all the scents!

Eco friendly, plastic free shampoo

I really like that this shampoo bar is 95% plant-based, is more recyclable and is eco friendly. The scent is strong out of the box but once used, it’s not overwhelming once it is on. And the bar majes my hands feel nice and soft.

The only negatives are that my eyes get a bit irritated from it and that is it is harder to brush my hair even after using lots of conditioner after. For that reason I give it a lesser star rating.

Lathers well

For a little bar of shampoo that just looks like a regular bar of soap, I am quite surprised it lathers well on a whole head of hair and how easy and quick it lathers up. The end result makes my hair feeling so soft and shiny. It's great that it's made mostly plant based without all the silicone and parabens and the box it comes with is recyclable so there is no waste at all. I am all for zero waste! However, I find the smell is a bit too fragrant for me. Asides from the strong smell, it works very well. It claims it is about 2 months of use in that bar. It really depends on how often you wash your hair, how much/long hair you have and how much you lather up. For an eco-friendly product, it doesn't break the bank to buy this either.

It smells so good!

I really love how it smells, its like a fresh clean floral that does not irritate the nose (a natural smell). I also love how everything is organic and you just put the shampoo bar in my hair to work it. I have a lot of hair by the way, and it lathers up nice

Such a great Shampoo

This shampoo bar is amazing!! It lathers nicely and my hair feels incredible after!! My hair feels softer, smoother, and overall healthier! What even better about this bar is the fact that the box is 100% recyclable.

I'm impressed to see Garnier come out with a shampoo bar. What a great way to save using all the plastic. The bar although small lathered wonderfully in my super thick hair. The smell is very light natural and very gentle on my hair. The shampoo actually felt soft and silky. I love how it left my hair feeling/looking shiny and soft and not fluffy and out of control. I was super excited to try the shampoo and other than the fact that I was sad I didn't know what to do with the bar when I was done with it I loved everything else about it.
