The only hand cream for my eczema!

I get extremely dry skin (eczema) in the fall and winter and I’m also sensitive to certain soaps that cause my hands to get dry, crack and even bleed. This lotion saves my hands! All I need is a small amount before I go to bed and my hands are back to normal and soft the next day! It doesn’t feel greasy and the scent is not overpowering. It is pricey but it works and it’s amazing!

Leaves your hands soft

I was gifted this with the cream in a set and really didn't think I'd use it. I'd never tried a hand scrub before but oh my God! This stuff is amazing! Whenever my hands are really dry and they definitely have been with all the washing and hand sanitiser usage over the last year, I take 5mins out to use this product which softens and kind of resets your hands back to normal. I then follow up with the hand cream and my hands feel lovely and soft again

I initially bought this for my mother when she complained her hands were really dry and started using this for my hands as well whenever they get really dry. I find that it exfoliates really well and is a good moisturizer but it isn't any better than other moisturizes I've used.

This product is beautiful, smells great and works quite well. It comes in a cute little pot with a paddle applicator. You do need to recombine the ingredients before each use as it is a combination of oil and sugar scrub that separate when sitting. It's been entered here as a shea butter scrub but it does also contain several other types of oil including almond and grape seed oil.

You really only need a fairly small amount to get good results; this does a good job of smoothing out rough hands, particularly the cuticle area if that is an area of concern. After a good scrub and rinse my hands feel amazingly soft and smooth. And again, the smell is so light and pleasant.

I will say that I don't find this product to make any particular difference in terms of moisturizing. It's a super effective exfoliator but I do find myself using a separate moisturizer most days.

The product comes in a rustic packaging, and the great thing about the box is that the product name is “written” on the side of the box in Braille! Good job L’occitane for making it easier for people with no eye-sight to distinguish between the products. The jar is plastic, but it’s sealed on the inside, which is always a plus for me. The scrub itself has two main phases: sugar and oils. They use organic sugar and three oils (shea butter, almond, grape seed) to make this scrub effective in both exfoliating and moisturizing your hands. It is very easy to mix the product, and I only use a very small amount – just what fits onto the spatula with one scoop. It smells sweet, just like the rest of L’occitane’s shea butter line, and I really enjoy the scent. They recommend you apply it to dry hands and massage delicately, focusing on cuticles, then rinse. I would say you really need to be gentle – the sugar is a bit harsh, so you don’t want to scrub too hard. Also, if you have nail polish on, massage very gently around your cuticles. Since rinsing removes most of the oils, I recommend you keep it on for a little while after massaging it in (like a hand mask), to allow the oils to sink into your skin, and then rinse with only warm water and pat dry. You will get smooth, lightly moisturized hands, that don’t feel oily after rinsing. The whole process is very fast, and I always follow with the hand cream from the same line.
