Power-tool hungry

Disclosure: I was sent this modular tool box free, for the purpose of providing an objective review. It is a little difficult to review a *piece* of a system, but here are my comments on this tool box.

The box comes with an optional center divider and a half-compartment sized upper tray.

First of all, it is an absolute BEAST when it comes to strength. I weigh around 80kg, and I have used it both as a stepstool and a seat, so when tasks are at those inconvenient levels, it doubles as a booster or keeping you off the ground. Secondly, the internal volume is huge. With the central divider, it easily accommodates all my largest screwdrivers and most wrenches (not larger pipe wrenches). Full size hammers also fit, on a diagonal if the center divider is in. Having said that, I think this unit is really designed for (and would be best suited for) storing power tools, with the upper tray for accessories or saw blades, tightening wrenches, etc. As part of a WHEELED, modular system (this box does not have wheels but the complete system does), it would represent a good modular storage option for a "mobile workshop" or at least MOST of the niche tools that one would want to be available. I *do* wish I had the complete system to review so I could get a better idea of its design function.

Sturdy Mastercraft Stax Box

This sturdy tool storage box is extremely durable. It feels so well made, the latches are metal and snap closed with a satisfying click. There is ample space for storage as well as a small removable tray. I have been looking for something my son can use to transport his art supplies to and from his studio at University and this will fit the need beautifully and durably. It may be a little heavier than what he was looking for but I think that the weight is worth the indestructibility.

Perfect tool box! This medium size STAX is a great size, still manageable to carry, while proving enough space for your tools, and essentials. Easy to move, or take on the go if you needed too. Anything bigger and I would have a hard time moving it. So this is a perfect size. Helps me keep my tools, and go to items all in one place. Fit perfectly on my garage shelving, and still easy enough to get down when full. I like to do my own small home repairs, so this is manageable for me to carry anywhere in the house. Would definitely recommend the purchase of this STAX toolbox. I don’t have the need for the entire modular system, but this tool box is great on its own.

Good but not great for what I would need it for!

I received this toolbox to try for free! I find this is a really good quality toolbox does not feel cheap. I find it very sturdy and easy to use. I do like the idea that you can buy multiple pieces and stack them together and this is what I would need to do to use it for everything I need it for. If you’re just starting out using this one by itself would be good, but not for someone who has a lot of tools like myself. I also could not stand my drills upright and shut the lid properly so that could be an issue for some people, otherwise you have to lay everything down. I would’ve liked a second compartment underneath the top section for other items not to have them all mixed up together on the bottom.

Pro Quality, DIY Budget

All in all, this is a sound, well-constructed box offering practical organization options for any DIYer looking to stay tidy and prepared.

More than tools

I used the tool box to hold pictures than I had on my coffee table. I have cats and they keep jumping up there. Perfect size to store them. More than just tool storage

Great for storage and organizing!

This storage box is fantastic! You can use it as a standalone storage box, or you can buy the matching set where they stack up and lock together! For those who take their tools on the go or even just have a garage and want to wheel the tools closer to where you need them, this is a great feature.

The size is perfect. We have a socket and tool set (also Mastercraft!) that fits perfectly in the bottom and the box has room to spare, even with the removable tray placed inside. (I took a photo of our box filled up, but for some reason it currently isn't allowing me to add more than one photo. I'll try again later!)

My husband isn't the best at keeping his tools all in one place, but I'm hoping that'll change with this, especially with how much it can hold. Rather than have some loose, miscellaneous tools in junk drawers, they're all together safely in one place.

This is great for those who need a place to put all the tools the handy person in your life (or not so handy, but they try, and that counts for something) have so you know exactly where to find them.

Solid, Reliable Storage

Rugged Storage that Works

The Mastercraft Stax Medium Storage Box is a fantastic piece. We live on an apple farm and have a cidery and a retail store, so there is always something to fix. We like to keep our tools in separate boxes to make life easier. We needed a new toolbox for our electrical tools, and this fit the bill perfectly. With a 65-pound capacity, it can fit a lot of stuff, and I don't have to worry about it breaking. The metal latches are strong and secure. The removable divider is great for keeping smaller tools handy. I love that this is modular, and in future, I could purchase the other units, which can be stacked with wheels and a handle. Great addition to our workshop!

Handy and Lightweight On The Go

The MasterCraft Stax Medium Box has a lightweight design with enough room for all the tools you require for completing projects at home and/or on the go. If you have bigger jobs to complete at home or out and about, this box can be added to other Stax boxes and easily movable with wheels and a long handle. The boxes connect securely and worry free so don't worry if your path is bumpy. This is a very convenient setup with other Stax boxes, and super handy all on its own. I am excited to buy the other Stax boxes next time I am going to Canadian Tire
