This is only the Safety Release Pin. An important child safety option, this fire safety release pin is located out of the reach of small children. Requires moderate force to release. Removal of pin allows the bars to be lifted. After removing the pin, an adult can easily lift the bars free of diagonal slots in the lock channel and swing the guard open.
