I found this to be a refreshing supernatural/fantasy read. I'm not a huge fan of romance in books as you generally have an idea that they may (or may not) get together by the end of the book.

This is a story about a girl named Zoe and bounty hunter, named X, fall in love but can't quite be together as they are from two different worlds. (I know, typical Romeo and Juliet). X is from a placed called the Lowlands (just picture hell) where certain prisoners have the right to become bounty hunters. These bounty hunters are sent back to earth to capture more prisoners by the Lords and if they fail to capture their prisoner, they face their Lord's wrath. Zoe prevents X from completing this task but they end up bonding together which causes X to get into trouble (cue Romeo and Juliet but with a twist of the supernatural).

I do agree with others when they say that Zoe and X fell in love pretty fast but I was reading more for the characters as opposed to the romance. The cast in the book were all interesting and vibrant (minus the few cops who played a minor role). For example, I particularly like the character named Ripper as she wore a mask of insanity to fool the guards and everyone in the Lowlands to think that she has lost her mind in the years she has been stuck there.
