American Reviews

What is "American cuisine"?  If you're a born-and-bred North American, you won't recognize your favourite chow for the unique cuisine it is.  Think Surf 'n Turf platters, premium burgers, Southern-style fried chicken and BBQ pork ribs for a start.  Serve 'em up with Californian salads, perfectly seasoned home fries, baked potato and corn on the cob, then follow with good ol' apple pie, triple chocolate brownies, and decadent milkshakes.

Hungry yet?  Yeah, let's order in American tonight!

Hard Rock Cafe

5 reviews

The food was pretty forgettable and the price wasn't worth it. However, the service wasn't bad they didn't rush us and allowed us to chat away even though we were long done eating.
Planet Hollywood

1 review

Similar to the Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood starts with a great atmosphere, but with movies, rather than music. Each Planet Hollywood has numerous movie memorabilia donated once a movie is finished. When in New York, my family and I sat behind the Ghost Busters display...
TGI Friday's

2 reviews

I went to the Friday's in Burlington, Vermont and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was hot, spicy and tasty. I like the loaded potato skins and the chicken. Nice drinks too. It was fun and relaxing. I'd go back again.
Jack Astor's Bar & Grill

10 reviews

Jack Astor's Bar & Grill; Fun and casual place to go with friends. Fun on patio in the summer and inside casual environment with funny jokes on the walls. Jack Astors is known for its jokes. Good food can't complain, good prices. Their chicken caesar is really good...
Lick's Homeburgers & Ice Cream

2 reviews

I rarely eat fast food, but one place I'll make an exception for is Licks. Their nature burgers are amazing, probably the best veggie burger I've tasted anywhere. I also love their ice cream - definitely not the best I've ever had, but still worth going back for. As well, they...
Chances R

Before they re-vamped I would have never set foot in this place! Now, this is one of the better choices eating-wise around the Algonquin College area. The prices, people, and food are great. Although service can be slow at times, it is far better than the Summerhays Grill...
Dunn's Famous Deli

2 reviews

Dunn's Smoked Meat in Montreal is a landmark restaurant. The sandwiches are huge, juicy and fresh. They sides are good too and you can finish the meal with a giant piece of strawberry cheesecake. I used to eat there when I was a CEGEP student. It was terrific.
Asqew Grill

This place was great. It was fast casual style (they gave you a number and then brought the food to your table). The meat was served on a skewer, and then you could pick what you wanted underneath the meat (a salad, cous cous, etc). It was definitely reasonably priced for lunch...
Soyka Cafe

1 review

Close to Miami's Midtown and new Design District, Soyka Cafe brings a big city feel to an otherwise developing urban area. Soyka is housed in an unimpressive building, but once you walk inside, it is transformed into an open, airy, loft style restaurant. There are exposed pipes...
The Pickle Barrel

16 reviews

I first discovered The Pickle Barrel Yonge/ Dundas location in 1987 when I was a student at Ryerson. Back then it was a great place to grab a chicken salad sandwich, burger and fries for lunch and get a break from campus between classes. A lot has changed since then, the menu...
Morning Star

1 review

Despite the shabby truck stop look this place has going on, it's actually a really decent breakfast. Freshly squeezed orange juice, thick texas style french toast, and surprisingly fluffy scrambled eggs. Two people can have a nice breakfast for $20. It seems like a family run...
Two Urban licks

Trendy, funky, jazzy, urban and tasty. Huge red Chinese lanterns overhead, one wall of glass overlooking the Atlanta skyline with pretty lights at night. Giant rotisserie with a specialty of brisket. Mashed sweet potatoes, watermelon with feta, Jack Daniels ice cream. Yummy...
Turtle Jack's Muskoka Grill

1 review

I had the recent pleasure of eating at Turtle Jack's and have to say that the food was so much more delicious than I expected. I had been told by a friend that this place was similar to a Jack Astor's and I have to say that friend was only partially correct. I found that that...
Hemispheres (The Met Hotel)

1 review

Dear Hemispheres at the Metropolitan Hotel, Shame on you for charging me $9.41 for a small glass of orange juice and a greasy pastry that had no business calling itself a croissant. For that price I would expect a freshly baked flaky croissant made by a French chef served with...
Booker's BBQ Grill & Crab Shack

1 review

A friend of mine took me to Booker's BBQ Gill & Crab Shack when I was recently visiting her in Calgary and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. This place has the equivalent atmosphere of a Toronto Jack Astor's but the menu is a little different. They have phenomenal ribs but...
Blue Fin

Nice open venue, pretty decor, LOVE the glass lounge section up front (perfect for people watching in one of the most busiest intersections in the world)! Service was a bit slow and they squeezed our group of 6 into a small booth (even though we made reservations weeks in...
Fran's Restaurant

5 reviews

Always stop in at Fran's Restaurant every time we go to Toronto for the day. I find the food amazing never had a bad meal and the wait staff are very pleasant and accommodating. The rice pudding is the best I have ever had.
Claim Jumper

The decor is cheesy with antlers everywhere, the portions are massive, but it is cheap and good! Each entre is big enough to share with two people. I had one order of halibut and one of ribs, shared between 4 people and we were all stuffed. The halibut was especially...
Golden Corral Buffet

10 reviews

I've only eaten at Golden Corral once in Florida. It was a very pleasant experience. So much food to chose from...it was overwhelming. Great bourbon chicken, pizza, fried potatoes, dessert bar. I have nothing bad to say. I will go again someday.
Dr. Generosity

I've been to this restaurant a number of times but realised I've never actually rated it! The restaurant is located in Toronto's Bloor West Village. It's a small restaurant, with a very cozy atmosphere and best of all the food is fantastic. I would say the food is basically...
