What is "American cuisine"? If you're a born-and-bred North American, you won't recognize your favourite chow for the unique cuisine it is. Think Surf 'n Turf platters, premium burgers, Southern-style fried chicken and BBQ pork ribs for a start. Serve 'em up with Californian salads, perfectly seasoned home fries, baked potato and corn on the cob, then follow with good ol' apple pie, triple chocolate brownies, and decadent milkshakes.

Arriba Restaurant in Toronto is located in the Renaissance Hotel - overlooking the Rogers Centre. By booking early, you can score a great seat by the window to watch the Jays. The service is fantastic, and the food is great - we swear by the chips and dip and the Arriba club.

Sonic is the best fast food place. There is a great atmosphere. You drive up to microphones to order and your food is brought out by people on roller blades. The food is also great and the ice cream is tasty!! Make sure you get a Strawberry Real Fruit Slush. Delicious

A Whitby institution. A great place to meet friends or for date night. They make a fabulous Cesar Salad. This is a great place whether you're looking for casual fare such as burgers or something more upscale such as their Gnocchi with Duck Confit and broken Sausage.

All day breakfast mom and pop diner type place. Too bad the mom and pop are rude as can be. The subs are good but I hate the bread- gets so greasy and just doesn't hold up. Breakfast is standard but cooked well. Quite cheap except for double deluxe subs.

Rainforest Cafe Mall of America; Go once for the ambiance and never again...my thoughts. You do go there just to see the interior, the decor, the atmosphere....but don't expect quality good food.....it's simply a marketing tactic. Fun to go once check out though!
