I love the beavertails that you can get in the market in Ottawa. My boyfriend and I will go and get them once every few months and walk around. They are a great treat, especially in the winter. All of the flavours are absolutely delicious, and the beavertail itself is so good on its own! Love it

The Ottawa must eat!

Whether you are visiting Ottawa or you live here, you must have at least one of the famous beaver tails! They are maple pastry, traditionally served with cinnamon and sugar, but many other options, such as banana and chocolate, now exist. This place is usually fairly quick, accommodating large volumes of people in busy season and they often are open late, especially on weekends. The staff have always been very kind. You can purchase beverages like hot chocolate here as well, and there are tables around the hut for people to sit down.

Great food!

If you go right in the heart of Downtown Ottawa, in the Byward Market you will find the famous Beaver Tail. This is a little pop-up Beaver Tail that is available throughout the summer and winter months. It is often very busy because everyone likes a good sweet treat!! The beaver tail pastries are always fresh and the dough is fried when you order it. It is then topped with your topping of choice, and there are endless possibilities. Some of the topping options are: cinnamon and sugar, chocolate hazelnut, banana chocolate, or maple butter.

The service is good and usually pretty quick. The price is a bit steep but it is well worth it for this decadent treat. It is one of the best desserts I have ever had because it is sweet yet the dough tastes so fresh. I would highly recommend going here!
