    Works well for my body

I use the Blue Lizard Sensitive Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 mostly on my body because the white cast is minimal there, but I can’t use it on my face, it shows up too much. I like that it’s gentle, fragrance-free, and uses zinc oxide as the active ingredient, which gives great broad-spectrum protection. It’s perfect for sensitive skin and days when I need solid sun protection.

    Eczema be gone

My kid loved this product so much. He suffers from eczema and everything we try either dries his skin so much and causes the eczema to flair up, or is greasy and hard to hold anything. This was neither, it went in with no problems and lasted as long as he was on his filed trip with his science class

    Lightweight, comfortable, affordable protection!

In exchange for my honest review, I received a complimentary 89 ml tube of Blue Lizard AUSTRALIAN SUNSCREEN's® Mineral Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin SPF 50, courtesy of Crown Labs (Canada)™ and Butterly™. The tube arrived in early June 2025, and I was given a few weeks to try the product during the brand’s sample campaign.

Full disclosure: I cannot honestly provide a comprehensive review of the sunscreen's water-resistance, because I haven't had the opportunity to use the product in and around water. Per my geographic location in rural, northwestern British Columbia, the daily temperature increase (in seasonal weather) is slightly behind more southernly locations in Canada. This region of Canada is slower to warm up during spring and summer months, lagging about a month behind more southern areas, and our cooler weather begins earlier. We have a very short "summer" in BC's northwestern region! The month of June and the first days of July have been cooler than average; not warm enough for me to venture into local lakes, rivers, or outdoor pools, to test the water resistance of the sunscreen! I used the product under normal, daily circumstances, and spend a significant amount of my time indoors.

First impressions: the plastic cap is sensitive to UV light, changing from clear to light blue upon exposure to UV rays, allegedly to remind users to apply and reapply sunscreen. However, per the 𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦 change in colour, I feel this is more of a gimmick than an effective reminder. If the cap were to slowly change from clear to blue, over a few 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴, doing so would demonstrate the need more authentically.

As a physical (not chemical) sunscreen, containing 10% Zinc Oxide and 8% Titanium Dioxide, I was impressed by how lightweight the product felt upon application! The addition of Dimethicone(s) gave the product a smooth application; there was no tug or resistance when smoothed into the skin, and I didn't have to invest a lot of effort to buff the product into my skin. There was also no pilling when I rubbed the product in, and the formula was comfortable on the thicker skin of my body. As soon as it dried down, the product was barely detectable to the touch on my body. It remained comfortable to wear. I didn't like the texture on my face—a bit too heavy, and I wouldn't recommend wearing it under makeup (or for photography—the minerals cause flash bounce-back). There was NO detectable fragrance nor lingering aroma; it is neutral in fragrance. I didn't experience the product in water until I showered, and noticed the water slightly beaded off. The sunscreen washed off with a bit of soap and water, with no residue, and the aloe in the formula contributed to softer, smoother skin at the end of the day.

A small and handy tube for on-the-go; an affordable product for those on a budget!

Cruelty-free formula, but not yet approved by PETA™ or Leaping Bunny™.

    Mineral lightweight SPF 50

This mineral sunscreen is super lightweight, unscented and long lasting. It goes on thick but blends in seamlessly. I wore it under makeup and it didn’t interfere with my regular skincare routine. It avape a quickly and penetrates into skin, providing full sun protection! I wore it all day, without needing to reapply and I didn’t burn or freckle at all! One of the sunscreen brands on the market

    Just a Dab!

You definitely only need a dab of this as it takes a while to absorb and covers a lot of area. I did feel my skin was protected and it lasts. There is no scent, (not even the weird one that comes with a lot of “unscented” products) which is great if that’s what you like. Overall it’s not bad, I just didn’t like that it takes so long and so much effort to absorb.

    Best sunscreen on the market

As someone with somewhat sensitive skin, it can react badly to a lot of different products and that definitely includes sunscreen. So, finding one that offers reliable protection without irritation feels like striking gold. After putting Blue Lizard Mineral Sunscreen Sensitive SPF50 through its paces, I can confidently say this product comes pretty close to the perfect sunscreen for us sensitive girlies. The first thing to love about Blue Lizard is its 100% mineral-based formula. With zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as the active ingredients, you're getting broad-spectrum protection that physically blocks UV rays, rather than relying on chemical filters that can often trigger sensitivity. My skin, which has flared up with chemical sunscreens in the past, remained calm and happy with this one. The SPF 50 offers a high level of protection, which is reassuring for long days outdoors or for those with fair skin. Despite its thick consistency straight out of the bottle, it rubs in surprisingly well for a mineral sunscreen. While it does leave a slight white cast initially, especially on darker skin tones, it tends to fade a bit as it settles. This is a common trade-off with mineral sunscreens, and for me, the lack of irritation is worth the minimal white tint. Another thoughtful feature is the smart bottle technology. The cap changes color when exposed to harmful UV rays, which is a fantastic visual cue to remind you to reapply or seek shade. It's a small detail but incredibly practical. It's also water-resistant for up to 80 minutes, making it suitable for swimming or sweaty activities. I've used it during hikes and even a quick dip in the lake, and it held up admirably, providing continuous protection. So, if you have sensitive skin or prefer a mineral-based sunscreen, Blue Lizard Mineral Sunscreen Sensitive SPF50 is an excellent choice. It delivers on its promise of high protection with minimal irritation, and its thoughtful features like the color-changing bottle add to its appeal. While the slight white cast might be a minor drawback for some, its overall performance and skin-friendly formula make it a standout product in the crowded sunscreen market

    Best sunscreen

I’m genuinely impressed with this sunscreen It blends effortlessly into my skin with zero white cast, which is such a game-changer. It feels lightweight, doesn’t leave any residue, and works perfectly under makeup or on its own. I’ve tried several sunscreens before, but this one stands out by far. I love it so much, and without a doubt, I’ll be buying it again

Mineral Sunscreen is not all white smears

I received this Blue Lizard Sunscreen as a gift for this review. I had never used a mineral sunscreen before and really thought I was going to just have a white smears all over, not the case, this reef friendly oroduct absorbed in with no scent or oiliness. I honestly forgot I had it on. I would say a much better experience than using the heavily oiled coconut scented versions. I highly recommend for those looking for a more natural protection from UVA and UVB exposure.

    Lovely sunscreen

I love this sunscreen, protects against the intense sun on the hottest days with amazing ingredients that aren’t toxic to you or your kids! I have rosacea and it doesn’t bother my face, my daughter has sensitive skin and it doesn’t bother her after wearing and reapply all day. I’m going to keep buying this exact sunscreen from now on. This review is part of a promotion.
