SUN SAFE DAYS WITH BLUE LIZARD

I recently got to try the Blue Lizard Mineral Sunscreen Sensitive SPF 50, sent to me by Butterly for my honest review, and I've been really impressed. Knowing it's mostly zinc oxide makes me feel good about putting it on, especially since it offers excellent protection and is so gentle on my sensitive skin. It glides on smoothly, absorbs fast into my skin without leaving a white cast. Definitely a great option if you're looking for a reliable, non-irritating SPF!

its better then expected!

I tested this sunscreen on two separate sunny vacations, while my husband and others in our group used various other brands. On the first day, I applied it to just one leg to see how it held up—and sure enough, the protected leg had no burn and only minimal color. The unprotected leg, however… not so lucky. (Apparently, I overcommitted to the experiment—oops! Thankfully I was able to balance it out over the rest of the week.)

What really stood out was how little product I needed compared to my husband, who was using Banana Boat Sport. I used at least half the amount per application, and applied it about half as often. (If you can clearly see a white coat, you’re using way too much.) There’s a super sheer, almost invisible white film left when applied properly—but it was so faint that no one even noticed it until I pointed it out up close.

It also lasted way longer in both pools and saltwater. While everyone else was reapplying constantly, I just checked that sheer coat up close and saw it was still doing its job—and I didn’t burn.

By the end of the trip, even my reluctant teen ended up using this on their face, because the regular sunscreen just couldn’t handle constant face-wiping in the pool. This one performed much better. We still reapplied a few times a day, but not nearly as often as we did with other sunscreens.

No whitecast but greasy finish

Sleek and straightforward packaging with a twist that I really found cute. The flip top lid looks transparent but changes color to a bluish tint when left in the sun for some time. This also warmed up the product and upon application this initially has a white cast which goes away when rubbed in for a few minutes. It makes the skin greasy so I recommend using it on the body or the face without make-up. It is a very good value sunscreen with almost no fragrance and absorbs quicker than other sunscreen creams.

Great Mineral Sunscreen

When spending time in the garden on these hot and sunny summer days, sun protection is essential. When I was asked to try out Blue Lizard Mineral Sensitive Sunscreen I was happy to say yes. This sunscreen is also reef-friendly and safe for all skin types. I love that it blends in without leaving a white cast and doesn’t feel too heavy. Another cool feature is that the lid of the bottle turns blue when exposed to UV light.

Wonderful sunscreen

This was unexpected as a sunscreen! It didn't have anything I hate about sunscreens, such as a strong smell, or a sticky residue feeling on my screen. It obviously had great protection since I did not get sunburnt after an afternoon in the sun, and I burn easily. Love the fact that the cap colour changes to dark blue in the sun. It's a nice reminder to reapply. SPF 50 is a great choice for those not looking to suntan, but to protect ourselves from harmful sun rays.

Excellent Sun Protection

This product works great! I used it before gardening on a hot sunny day, and although I was sweating, it kept my skin protected. I like that it's a mineral sunscreen, making it a cleaner and not exposing my skin to chemicals. It comes in a relatively small size, but after using it, I noticed that a little goes a long way. You dont need to lather on a lot like you do with most sunscreens. I took off one star because it did feel a little thick and greasy on my skin, which I'm not a fan of, but otherwise, I love knowing that it's made with minerals and provides excellent protection.

Blue Lizard totally got me with the name, so cute! The blue UV-activated cap, and even the way the cream looks a little blue on my skin at first (I don’t know if it’s on purpose, but I kind of love it 😄)
